I’ve been playing around with this cutie for the past couple weeks and thought it was about time I give a little review. First of all, I’m a huge fan of ereaders. I was one of the early adopters of the very first Nook device. I love my physical books, but I love the convenience of ereading.
In this video I tried to give a good size comparison between the xteink reader and my kindle paperwhite and kindle basic. You can also see that the xteink has MagSafe compatibility which is a cool feature. I’m reading A Separate Peace by John Knowles so I flipped through a few pages so you can see what that looks like.
💭𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬
→ I’m obsessed with the size. It’s super lightweight and smaller than my phone, but it gives the ‘feel’ of being on a phone. It has been great for getting me back to reading instead of doomscrolling
→ The MagSafe component is cool because you can just stick it on the back of your phone and put it in your pocket or purse, but I noticed I have to move the device higher on the back of my phone for it to really ‘hook’
→ It does take a little bit of user education to add your books to the device and you need to own the books you put on it. I read a lot of classics that you can get for free anyway on top of all my owned books, so not a big issue for me
→ Physical buttons! Not having physical buttons is one of the things I miss from my kindle oasis
→ User Interface takes some getting used to and can lag slightly at times
→ It’s really cute and easy on the eyes when reading
→ It’s much less expensive than some other palm-sized ereader options I’ve seen around
