The suprahyoid muscles are four paired muscles that are located in the anterior compartment of the neck above the hyoid bone. These muscles are attached to the superior aspect of the hyoid bone and connect it to the mandible and the temporal bone. 💡 The suprahyoid group includes the following muscles: 🔸Mylohyoid muscle 🔸Geniohyoid muscle 🔸Digastric muscle 🔸Stylohyoid muscle Learn human anatomy fast at Anatomy.app!🧠 . . . . #humanbody #anatomyandphysiology #humananatomy #3danatomy #anatomy #anatomiahumana #anatomie #anatomi #medicalschool #medicalstudents #medschool #medstudents #medicaleducation #medstudy #anatomylab #medstudentlife #medstagram #headandneck #osteopath #osteopathy #chiro #chiropractors #dentistry #dentalschool #dentalstudents #dental #usmle #edtech

The humerus is the bone of arm. It is the longest and strongest bone of the upper limb. ANATOMICAL POSITION AND SIDE DETERMINATION The side of humerus can be determined by holding it vertically in such a way that: 1. The rounded head at the upper end faces medially, backwards and upwards. 2. The lesser tubercle, greater tubercle, and vertical groove (intertubercular groove) at the upper end faces anteriorly. 3. The olecranon fossa on the lower flattened end faces posteriorly.

The hip bone is a large irregular flat bone in the pelvic girdle region. It consists of three fused bones: the ilium, ischium, and pubis.\n\nPARTS\nThe hip bone has upper and lower expanded parts with a cup-shaped hollow called acetabulum. The upper part is the ilium, while the lower part contains the obturator foramen.\n\nANATOMICAL POSITION AND SIDE DETERMINATION\nTo determine the side, hold the hip bone with:\n- Acetabulum facing laterally\n- Obturator foramen below acetabulum\n- Ilium directed upward, pubis anteromedially, and ischium posteroinferiorly\n- Pubic tubercle and anterior superior iliac spine in the same coronal plane\n- Ischial tuberosity at the lowest position.

🦴The palatine bones are small paired bones located deep in the midface, forming the posterior part of the hard palate and part of the lateral walls of the nasal cavity. Though rarely discussed, they sit at an important junction between the facial skeleton and the cranial base. Each palatine bone has two main parts: the horizontal plate, which forms the back third of the hard palate, and the perpendicular plate, which contributes to the lateral wall of the nasal cavity. Through these structures they help shape the oral cavity, nasal cavity, and a small portion of the orbit. They articulate with six neighbouring bones — the maxilla, sphenoid, ethmoid, vomer, inferior nasal concha, and the opposite palatine bone — placing them at a subtle structural crossroads within the skull.💀 The palatine bones also contain the greater and lesser palatine foramina, which transmit nerves and vessels supplying the hard and soft palate via the maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve (V2). From a craniosacral perspective, their relationships with the maxilla, sphenoid, and vomer place them within the midline architecture of the face, contributing to the organisation of the palate, nasal septum, and the deeper structures of the cranial base. Sometimes the smallest bones sit at the most interesting crossroads. ✨ At the Craniosacral Collaborative, we honour the importance of understanding anatomy in depth while maintaining a heart-centred, trauma-informed approach. ♥️ Reel with appreciation to @anatomy.app 🙏🏼 #CraniosacralTherapy #CST #palatines #HumanAnatomy #SomaticTherapy
