Memorial to the Murdered Jews of EuropeInstagram Photos and Videos

After so many years I finally made it. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to visit this memorial. I walked through these stones and thought of those who were lost, about those we are losing now. I cannot put into words the way this made me feel.

O Memorial aos Judeus Mortos na Europa, em Berlim, representa a homenagem oficial da Alemanha às vítimas judias do Holocausto. Inaugurado em 2005, seu projeto, do arquiteto Peter Eisenman, é composto por 2.711 estelas de concreto dispostas em um campo ondulado. A intenção é criar uma sensação de desorientação, isolamento e vazio, refletindo a incompreensibilidade daquele crime histórico. Não há nomes ou inscrições nas estelas — a obra convida cada visitante a vivenciar a memória de forma individual e silenciosa, representando a perda irreparável e a responsabilidade coletiva de não esquecer.
