The only tutorial you’ll need to finally nail down those 3D flowers!! Once you get the technique going, I promise it’s super easy (just a little tedious). They add so much character and are HIGHLY requested not only in the Spring but all throughout the year. Some important tips: 1. Start with less sculpting clay than you think! My issue is that I always add too much and end up getting petals that are too thick. It’s better to start with less and add more as needed. 2. If you’re doing a 2 layer flower, the first layer should have slightly bigger balls. The second inner layer should be slightly less gel since the petal size will decrease. 3. Make sure your petals are not touching on the sides or you risk creating a glob instead of distinct petals! (Unless that’s what you’re going for). 4. For ombré styles, it’s all about working in layers. Don’t rush it, layer and add colors as you see necessary! Have fun!!
