💬 Not needed anymore — and here’s why.
Major expert bodies now recommend against routine shielding during X-ray acquisition, including:
✅ ACR – American College of Radiology
✅ AAPM – American Association of Physicists in Medicine
✅ BIR – British Institute of Radiology
✅ Public Health England
✅ Image Gently Campaign
📉 Why shielding is discouraged: – Modern X-ray machines use tight collimation and very low doses
– Shields can interfere with automatic exposure control, leading to increased radiation
– Improper placement may obscure anatomy, causing repeat imaging
– Education and communication offer better reassurance than outdated lead aprons
💡 Bottom line: Today’s machines protect better than any shield.
So unless clinically necessary — no apron is actually safer.

MUMomento dramatico de la noche😱😱😱... Venian regalandonos una #FINAL espectacular 🎁🎁🎁!!!! Pelea entre los 3 primeros para llevarse la noche #️⃣5️⃣ #️⃣3️⃣ #️⃣1️⃣ cuando el de los polvorines saliendo de la curva 4 se va contra el guardarail y cuando vuelve estaba el auto de @ulivisport 💥 sin intención de nada y sin poder hacer nada para evitarlo lo manda nuevamente contra el guardarail, el Piloto del @petrellis_competicion termino la final dando vueltas por el aire...

Coming to the 3 key incidental findings orthodontists should be aware of Number one dense bony islands So what are they It's a radiopacity with no radiolucent halo They generally tend to occur in the mandibular premolar region but it's not exclusive to it they are harmless and that is a key take-home message to reassure ourselves and our patients However we do need to factor them into planning as they may resort brutes if contact is made So we need to inform our treatment plan around not moving teeth into these areas Number 2 sinus mucosal thickening So the antral floor as long as it remains intact is only of concern if it's greater than 5 millimeters Otherwise it is simply just a variation of normal anatomy The third incidental finding trabecular pattern This can be quite marked and generally tends to occur around the inferior dental alveolar canal It has no corticated borders Now it tends to be more in children and that's technically because of the physiological response of having more red blood cells and developing in that surrounding region Again it's incidental nothing to have concerns
