We did some stuff!!!
No wonder we had commercials that said, “It’s 10:00 pm…do you know where your kids are?”
Remember when “be home before the streetlights come on” was the only rule?
We rode bikes until our legs burned.
We knocked on doors instead of texting.
We climbed fences, snuck out windows, and thought we were absolute masterminds.
No GPS.
No phones.
No parents tracking our every move.
Just a group of kids, a half-busted BMX, maybe a cassette tape in someone’s backpack… and a whole lot of freedom.
We got into a little trouble.
We learned a lot of life.
And somehow we always made it home.
It was risky.
It was innocent.
And it was the best kind of growing up.
If you know… you know.
Gen X didn’t grow up online.
We grew up outside.
