Spain Sunday 🇪🇸 Part 4 | San Sebastián belongs at the top of your travel list. 🦐 From world-famous pintxos to Michelin-starred magic, we were lucky to explore it all with friends who know the city inside and out, and now we’re passing it on. Save this for your next trip to Spain. DAY 1 📍 Flight from Barcelona to San Sebastián – Just 1.5 hours and the views on arrival are stunning. 📍 Bar Nestor – Famous for their 16-slice-a-day Spanish tortilla. We got one! Also: steak, blistered shishitos, and tomato salad. 📍 La Viña – The OG Basque cheesecake. Creamy, caramelized, unforgettable. DAY 2 📍 Morning run along the coast – A beautiful way to take in the old town and beachside views. 📍 Elkano (Getaria) – A Michelin-starred seafood temple. The grilled turbot and kokotxas (fish throats) in four styles were absolutely next level. 📍 Pintxo crawl in Old Town: • Bar Martínez – Classic flavors done right. • Atari – Cozy, charming, and tasty. • Vergara – Well-executed bites, great atmosphere. • Bar Sport – Don’t miss the buttery foie gras pintxo. DAY 3 📍 Wind Comb sculpture by Eduardo Chillida – A must-see blending art and ocean. 📍 Funicular ride to Mount Igueldo – For postcard-worthy city views. 📍 Arzak – 3 Michelin stars, run by the incredible Elena Arzak. This meal was technical, creative, and warm. DAY 4 📍 Final pintxo crawl: • Gandarias – The uni cup and famous mini burger were highlights. • La Cuchara de San Telmo – Our favorite. Steak, squid ink orzo, crispy pork belly... everything slapped. San Sebastián, you were everything. Whilst prices seem expensive, I do actually think it’s very good value considering the quality of ingredients - definitely one for a special occasion though (not a standard pub meal haha) As I said, the service was pretty slow but it’s a team of new staff which are still training to work together so please bare that in mind when visiting :) Exciting to have another fantastic pub in London 🔥 🌟 If you can’t take a date, take a mate! Today we’re making the world-famous basque cheesecake from Spain 🇪🇸 it’s creamy, dreamy, and so damn delicious😮‍💨 Any Spanish people out there, lemme know how I did 🫶🏻 📌RECIPE BELOW - yields 10 slices Gather 350g caster sugar 1kg full fat Philadelphia cream cheese 215ml double cream 7 large eggs 1 tsp vanilla Method 1.) Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan. In a standing mixer or large bowl, add all the ingredients in the order listed above. 2.) Whisk for 2 minutes until the ingredients have fully incorporated and the batter is smooth. 3.) Pour into a pre-lined round cake tin (10 inches) and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the top is burnt, increasing the temperature to 200 degrees for the final 15 minutes. 4.) Leave the cheesecake to cool for an hour before placing in the fridge and refrigerating over night. (I recommend doing this for the best result). #dessert #cheesecake #spanishfood #easyrecipe

Then add egg whisk it Transfer to a remekins bake ke at 235 Celsius for 18 minutes !

Basque caramelized torrijas 🤯😮‍💨 One of Spain’s many Easter delicacies is the torrija-a humble recipe where stale bread gets a second chance. After a quick soak in aromatized milk, it’s dipped in egg and deep-fried in oil. From this concept, Basque cuisine created the perfect blend of Spanish torrija and French brioche toast: a 24-hour soak transforms the interior into a rich, custardy delicacy. Then, it’s lightly caramelized with butter and sugar, forming a golden, crunchy crust-the perfect shell for what might just be the best toast you’ll ever eat in your life 🤩 find a full recipe video with step by step explanation in my link in bio 🤩 RECIPE: • 500g brioche loaf • 500g whole milk • 320g heavy cream (30% fat or more) • 60g sugar 1 egg • 1 egg yolk • 1/2 vanilla bean To caramelize: sugar and butter, c/s (as much as needed) METHOD: Easy, but requires some prep: 1. Dry out your loaf in the fridge for about two days so it can handle a 24h soak without falling apart. 2. Slice it into thick pieces-roughly 100g each. 3. Warm up the milk just enough to dissolve the sugar. Then mix in the remaining batter ingredients-this will also help cool it down faster. 4. Once the mixture reaches room temp, soak your slices in a container where they’re covered halfway. After 12h, flip them to let gravity do its thing. (Or just double the batter and fully submerge them if you’re feeling lazy haha.) 5. To caramelize: sprinkle a generous amount of sugar on each torrija and sear them in a buttered pan over medium heat. Give each side about 5 minutes. 6. Enjoy them right away-or let them cool down and keep in the fridge for maximum one day. Reheat in the oven or air fryer. #spanishfood #easter #brioche #torrijas #basquefood #recipe #spain
