The brand has been making knitwear in England for literal centuries and has remained a family business since 1784. It is currently in it’s 8th generation of the Smedley family.
John Smedley is known for producing high quality knits and in premium materials such as cashmere, British wool and sea island cotton.
I mean, you know the product is good when John Smedley has not one but two Royal Warrants on their knitwear, which is a mark of recognition granted to companies who have made things for the Royal Household in the last 7 years.
I have been a customer of John Smedley for the last 9 years and over time have accumulated a few pieces, such as the quarter-zip, turtleneck, mockneck, chunkier knitwear, the johnny polo, a crewneck and even a zip up cardigan.
And my favourite thing about John Smedley, is how well their knitwear fits and held up over the years.
