PIyou’d think after cosplaying for this long i would’ve progressed past some of these but we’ve all been there ngl
🕷️🩷 i have cried (almost at a con) over a broken prop
i spent 2+ weeks hand making my first prop in YEARS for one of my favourite favourite characters (shima from blue exorcist who inspired my username fun fact) for my first con in years and it snapped on the way there and on the way home after fixing it and i was so so upset
🕷️🩷 i compare myself to other cosplayers and get upset about it
everyone does this, i talk a LOT about trying not to do this but it’s so hard to avoid. i try to reframe my mindset from “they’re better than me” to “i like how they did this thing, can i take inspiration from this somehow and improve my own cosplay?”
🕷️🩷 i rewear my fake lashes until they fall apart
they don’t look the same when they’re new
🕷️🩷 i’ve cried over not liking a cosplay
a recent example is my thoma cosplay! idk what it was about it but while i was in it, i hated it and all i could focus on was my insecurities and how wonky i felt (my eyebrows were slightly uneven) but then when i looked at it again a few days later it really wasn’t that bad (still slightly wonky and major room for improvement though, i know i can do better)
