1. Winters
Denver winters are mostly dry and brown, not snowy and magical.
The real snowy and magical winters are usually in the mountains.
The city is usually dry and sunny during the winters.
Just make sure to bring your chapstick and have some water handy, cause you will need it!
2. Food scene
Colorado’s food scene can feel a little mid.
As a native I can say it’s improved. Just make sure you check reviews and do some homework before picking where to eat.
If you wanna know of any good spots ask a local or native.
3. Nativists
Online you’ll hear “Colorado is full” or “don’t come here” or “stop moving here”
In real life, the people you actually meet here and the natives are pretty welcoming.
There’s plenty of room here.
4. Denver’s age
Denver is a relatively young major city compared to legacy metros.
Denver didn’t really explode into a major city until post-World War II, and honestly again in the last 20–30 years.
It’s been known as a fly over state and hasn’t gotten the same attention that many other major cities have.
Once you visit you’ll understand why it’s been so popular and is still gaining attention.
5. Natives that Ski and snowboard
Most Colorado natives don’t ski as much as people think.
We know all too well about the weekend traffic to the mountains and how brutal it can be.
Plus After growing up here, it’s not a novelty anymore.
Obviously, there’s a lot that still go. But it’s not as big for natives as you’d think.

From walkable pockets near coffee shops and restaurants to mountain views that catch you off guard, Denver has a way of pulling people in and asking them to stay.
This is home for me.
