Headed to your menopause or perimenopause appointment? Ask these 3 questions—and pay attention to the answers. 1. Are you willing to discuss hormone therapy? → Red flag if they say no outright, dismiss your symptoms, or bring up outdated fear-mongering about risk. 2. What percentage of your patients are using hormone therapy? → Red flag if they say “almost none”—that likely means they’re not offering it, not that no one needs it. → Red flag if they say “100%”—that suggests a one-size-fits-all approach, which isn’t good medicine either. 3. Which types of hormone therapy do you offer? → Red flag if the only option is pellet therapy. That’s an ethical red flag. Pellets are not FDA-approved, often deliver supraphysiologic doses, and can be expensive and irreversible for months. There are multiple safe, effective, and customizable options—like transdermal estrogen, micronized progesterone, and more. Your care should never be limited to one method. You’re not being difficult. You’re being informed. And that’s powerful. #menopause #perimenopause #drmaryclaire #thenewmenopause #hrt #womenshealth #menopauseadvocate #selfadvocacy #evidencebasedmedicine

Everyone’s talking about peptides like this… so let’s actually look at the science. Yes — there is a study on BPC-157 and cancer. But it’s a 2004 conference abstract (not even a full paper), looking at melanoma cells in a petri dish. That’s where the evidence ends. No human trials. No animal tumour data. No independent replication in 20 years. At the same time, peptides like BPC-157 are known to activate healing pathways, including angiogenesis (blood vessel growth) — which raises a legitimate concern in cancer biology. So when people claim this peptide “fights cancer”… That’s not evidence. That’s a leap. Medicine isn’t built on isolated lab findings — it’s built on reproducible, real-world data. Bottom line: Until we have proper in vivo evidence, peptides like this shouldn’t be considered safe in the context of cancer. That’s the science. — #peptides #bpc157 #medicaleducation #evidencebasedmedicine #peptide

Biohacking is a ruse. People who biohack think they can somehow outsmart evolution with unproven supplements or trends tested only in worms and mice. Follow the basic rules of wellness: eat well, move your body, sleep, and connect with people. Ivermectin is known for treating parasites. Now it’s being examined in cancer research labs. Preclinical studies show it may slow growth in certain cancer cell lines, including breast, colorectal, ovarian, and lung cancers. Researchers are studying how it interacts with pathways like Wnt/β-catenin and AKT/mTOR, which play roles in tumor development and spread. Important detail: these findings come from lab and animal models, not human clinical trials. Ivermectin is not an approved cancer treatment. Lab results don’t equal real-world outcomes. Understanding the difference between early research and proven therapy is critical before drawing conclusions or sharing claims. Follow @eraofwellbeing to get more videos like this. • Vitamin A (retinol) — Chronic high intake (>10,000 IU/day) has been linked to reduced bone density and increased hip fracture risk. PMID: 12213943 • Vitamin E — Higher doses (≥400 IU/day) associated with a small increase in bleeding (hemorrhagic) stroke risk. PMID: 20647268 • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) — Long-term high doses (commonly >100 mg/day) can cause sensory neuropathy and nerve damage. PMID: 2985233 • Beta-carotene (supplements) — High-dose supplementation increased lung cancer risk in smokers in major trials. Myth #3: Doctors always weigh the risks and benefits before recommending treatment. In reality, many physicians struggle to keep up with the rapid pace of medical research—and few have the time or training to evaluate new evidence critically. As statistician Andrew Gelman points out, “It’s kind of silly to think that medical school alone gives you the skills to evaluate research claims.” If doctors aren’t reading or interpreting studies accurately, what does that mean for patient care—and for trust in medicine itself? 🔗 Read more at the link in bio. #EvidenceBasedMedicine #MedicalEthics #HealthcareReform #MedicalResearch #CriticalThinking #ScienceAndMedicine #Quillette #MedicalEducation #DoctorTraining #HealthPolicy #ClinicalPractice #MedicalScience #ResearchLiteracy #PatientCare #MedicalSystem #ScienceCommunication #ModernMedicine #HealthcareCrisis #TrustInMedicine #RationalDebate

Let’s get one thing straight: fat jabs aren’t a magic wand. 🪄💉 GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide can be powerful tools — but they don’t erase the complex biology, psychology, and environment behind obesity. They can help quiet the food noise, stabilise blood sugar, and support healthy habits… but they don’t replace them. Sustainable change still depends on mindset, movement, nutrition, sleep, and self-understanding. As a GP, I see these treatments work best when they’re part of a bigger picture — not a shortcut. Obesity isn’t about willpower. It’s about biology, behaviour, and compassion. 🧠💚 #FatJabs #GLP1 #Semaglutide #Tirzepatide #ObesityCare #WeightManagement #MetabolicHealth #LifestyleMedicine #NHSGP #DoctorLed #MedicalWeightLoss #ScienceNotStigma #ObesityAwareness #HealthEducation #EvidenceBasedMedicine #RealHealth #BalancedHealth #GPAdvice #MindBodyMedicine

I’m being sued for defamation and reported to the medical board… Why? Because I asked an alternative medicine clinic to show evidence for claims they made online. As doctors, we’re trained to question, not blindly accept—and when it comes to health, evidence matters. If asking for proof is now considered defamation, what does that say about the claims being made? #EvidenceBasedMedicine #DoctorTikTok #IntegrativeMedicine #MedicalFreedom #health
