بزرگترین ساعت جهان (مکه) بر فراز برج ساعت، در مجموعهٔ برجهای بیتالله الحرام در مکهٔ مکرمه قرار دارد. ارتفاع آن حدود ۶۰۱ متر است و با چهار نمای بزرگ طراحی شده که از فاصلههای دور نیز دیده میشود. طراحی این ساعت بر اساس سبک اسلامی انجام شده و دارای ویژگیهای منحصربهفردی است؛ از جمله نوشتن لفظ جلاله «الله اکبر» و بزرگترین هلالی که تاکنون ساخته شده است.
بر اساس اعلام خبرگزاری رسمی عربستان، ارتفاع برج ساعت ۶۰۱ متر است و وزن کلی ساعت به حدود ۳۶ هزار تُن میرسد. ساعت دارای چهار صفحه است؛ مساحت هر یک از دو صفحهٔ جلو و عقب حدود ۴۳۴۳ متر مربع و دو صفحهٔ جانبی حدود ۳۹۴۳ متر مربع است.
تزئینات بالای ساعت با لفظ جلاله «الله اکبر» آراسته شده است. طول حروف در کلمهٔ «الله» بیش از ۲۳ متر است و قطر هلالی که بالای آن قرار دارد نیز ۲۳ متر میباشد.
از نظر زمانسنجی، این ساعت به شبکهٔ زمان جهانی (UTC) متصل است و زمان مکهٔ مکرمه را بهعنوان زمان مرجع اعلام میکند. برای روشنایی ساعت از ۲۱ هزار چراغ LED به رنگهای سبز و سفید استفاده شده که هنگام اذان روشن میشوند و نور آنها از چندین کیلومتر دورتر قابل مشاهده است.
