CA📰 A (p)up-date from influencer puppy Ranger with the @pcolaiceflyers! 🏒⛸️
Ranger, who is in professional #servicedog training, has mastered picking up a plastic dumbbell off the ground, hold it calmly and give it to his handler - a skill, which will ultimately help his human partner.
He can also use his nose to activate push plates and turn a light switch on; he has been introduced to working around a manual wheelchair.
Some of our clients utilize various mobility equipment, so it is important for Ranger to be accustomed to different types of wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, crutches and other equipment.
He is also polishing up his "visit" skill, in which he rests his chin in his handler's lap. This skill can be combined with the formal retrieve to help deliver items more within reach to our clients.
Ranger went to a local mall to practice his skills in a more stimulating environment as well. He walked nicely on a loose leash while navigating around various kiosks and shoppers. Ranger also practiced walking up and down the stairs at an appropriate pace and riding in an elevator. As the grand finale, he accompanied his handler to the food court and took a nap under the table while she ate her lunch.
Keep up the great work, Ranger! We are looking forward to continuing to follow your progress as you learn and grow into a future service dog! 🐕🦺

PIWhen I was five years old, I walked through an aviation museum as a little Indian girl 🇮🇳 and told myself, “One day, I’m going to fly an airplane.” 🥺✈️
Of course, life had other plans first. From being told that Indian girls can’t and shouldn’t fly airplanes to really financially struggling, there were so many hurdles. So many detours.
But through every setback, one thing never left me.. and that was (is) my love for flying. For over 10 years now, it’s been the one constant in my life. My anchor. My safe place. My first true love. ✈️
No matter what chaos life throws at me, I always come back to this:
I did this.
I built this dream with my own two hands.
No shortcuts. No safety net. Just faith, hard work, grit, and an unshakable vision. A big dream…
That little five-year-old girl had no idea what she would go on to become.
She had no idea she’d one day be flying jets for a major airline.
She had no idea she’d break stereotypes her ancestors never even imagined breaking.
But I know they were (and are) with me every step of the way.
Watching me. Protecting me. Guiding me. 🙏🏽
And I know they’re proud. 🤍
I went from being a Desi girl with this big, wild, “unobtainable” dream to now an airline pilot living IT in the flight deck (cockpit)… what a beautiful life this is. ✨
To every brown girl who sees this post, who is quietly holding onto an “impossible” dream: Don’t let it go. Please. 🙏🏽 Your future self is counting on you, waiting on you and already thanking you. 🫶🏽
