Are you sprouting yet? Give me a 🙌🏻🙌🏻 if you’re on it. And if not, what are you waiting for??? When I think of sprouts, I think of @Dougevans (smash the follow) and his book The Sprout Book. Here he is in today’s Empowered Gut Summit training on how to sprout peas to combat histamine intolerance. There’s a lot to love about SPROUTS! They are a whole vegetable 🌱 — roots, shoots and leaves. We usually only eat a fraction or part of the plant, here we are completely consuming it. They are nutritious…😋 Vitamins Minerals Fiber Phytochemicals Polyphenols Prebiotics Probiotics AND they can have medicinal properties. Take histamine intolerance, for example. There’s an imbalance, or excess, of histamine in the diet. Diamine oxidase, or DAO, is the enzyme that our body uses to breakdown histamine. One of the strategies that I teach in The Fiber Fueled Cookbook is to supplement DAO. By supplement, I don’t mean an actual supplement, although you could do that and it’s made from pig kidneys. What I mean is sprouting peas IN THE DARK. In doing this, the “stress” of sprouting in the dark brings out the best in the them, and they significantly increase their DAO production. The result? More DAO then you will find in pig kidneys. You can spare the pigs and munch on some pea sprouts for better results. That one gets a double OINK OINK from Miss Piggy 🐷 and all her relieved family members.🙌🏻🙌🏻 Seriously though. Think about what I just said. You have the ability to enhance digestive enzymes BY EATING SPROUTS. That’s INSANE! As Doug says, “Everything is good about sprouts.” I agree with him.👊🏻👊🏻 If you haven’t planted your victory garden, it’s time to get on it folks.
