HEThis summer, our teachers traveled to Gradalis, a Waldorf-inspired training dedicated to nurturing the art of teaching. Over several days, we deepened our understanding of child development, storytelling, curriculum design, and the inner work that helps us meet each child with warmth and purpose.
Gradalis supported us in refining how we weave story, movement, and artistic expression into learning—nurturing wonder, joy, and a love of discovery. This experience reminded us that education is truly an art form.
Thanks to the generosity of the Heartwood Foundation and the funds raised at their annual auction, we return with fresh inspiration and a commitment to bring these practices into our classrooms.

STI am teaching teachers all week here in Denver. I arrived yesterday and we start after lunch.
They are coming from around the world and would like to integrate storytelling into their classroom.
Many will arrive hoping to become “better storytellers“. They will very quickly realize that that is not what I am going to help them become. I am not interested in good storytelling or bad storytelling. I am interested in aligned storytelling.
What I mean by that is that the story and it’s telling are aligned with the storyteller’s intent.
If they wish to entertain, then there you go.
If they wish to teach through storytelling, Then we need to be clear about that and align in that direction.
If they want to deliver a healing story, then the story needs to be properly contained and aligned in that direction.
This all sounds very reasonable, and perhaps even obvious, but few people, take the time and attention to properly align their storytelling.
All of these teachers will soon know how to do that.
