Lightroom Mobile Masking Tips You NEED to Know 📱🔥 If you're not using masking in Lightroom Mobile, you're missing powerful edits. Here’s how to level up: 1. Use “Select Subject” First Masking → Select Subject. Slightly brighten your subject. Tap Invert and darken the background for instant depth. 2. Use “Select Sky” for Landscapes Masking → Select Sky. Lower highlights, add dehaze, and adjust temperature slightly. 3. Brush with Low Flow Increase feather for soft edges. Lower flow and build adjustments slowly for natural results. 4. Create Multiple Masks Use separate masks for face, hair, background, clothes, and sky. Cleaner edits = professional look. 5. Use Color Range Masking → Color Range. Tap the color you want to adjust (sky, clothes, background). Refine with the Amount slider. 6. Use Luminance Range Great for fixing blown highlights or adjusting only shadows without affecting everything. 7. Use Face Detection for Portraits Select face areas like skin and eyes. Lightly brighten eyes. Slightly reduce skin texture. Keep it natural. 8. Use Linear Gradient for Better Lighting Drag from one side to create directional light. Darken foreground or add warmth for a cinematic feel. 9. Check Your Mask Overlay Tap the mask to see the red overlay. Zoom in and clean edges if needed. 10. Think Depth, Not Brightness Brighten subject. Darken background. Add subtle vignette. Save this and try it on your next edit 🔥 #photography #lightroom #madewithlightroom #adobelightroom #lightroommobile

The exact HOW TO you need ⬇️ ➡️ But first make sure to save this reel and follow @snugglysnoutsphotography for all your pet photo inspirations and editing tips! If you want to level up your pet photos, learn how to use masks in Lightroom. It is honestly one of the most powerful ways to add directional lighting to your photos and give them that sunset look. We went for this photoshoot during peak sun due to it being a forest but wanted the warmth of a sunset golden hour. This is how we edited to satisfy that need! 1️⃣ Use small radial masks for the eye Add a little extra light and clarity so their eyes sparkle and grab attention. 2️⃣ Invert a radial mask to cover the foreground. Darken everything in front of your pet. 3️⃣ Add a Subject mask and slightly increase the exposure and contrast to make your pet stand out. Be very careful with this as it’s easy to overdo it and give it a fake look. 4️⃣ Add a large radial mask directly over the light source. This is primary mask to add directional lighting. Increase the brightness and add warmth to this. Helps frame the photo and draw the eye to your pet 5️⃣ Use a Luminosity mask to affect only the brighter parts of the image and increase their warmth to further add the golden hour effect. ✨ Bonus Tip When in the luminescence mask, reduce clarity and texture to give that glow and soft look! Trust me it’s a game changer!! 🔥 Save this for your next Lightroom session and share this with a friend who is learning how to edit pet photos. #dogphotographer #lightroomediting #madewithlightroom

If you’ve been chasing that cinematic street photography look, steal these exact Lightroom settings. I took this frame while walking through Brooklyn. Urban portrait photography is less about the location and more about how you shape light and color in post. Here’s the simple Lightroom editing workflow I used to get that film-inspired street style: - Tone Curve - I built a subtle S-curve to deepen contrast, then adjusted the red channel curve slightly upward in the midtones to warm skin tones without oversaturating the entire image. - Color Grading - I pushed the shadows toward a cooler blue and nudged the highlights into a soft yellow to create that cinematic, vintage film color palette. This separation is what gives the image depth and mood. - Vignette - I added a controlled vignette to guide the eye toward the subject and add dimension, keeping it soft so it doesn’t feel heavy-handed. The goal wasn’t to over-edit - it was to create separation, depth, and a cohesive color story that feels intentional. These small adjustments inside Adobe Lightroom can completely change the mood of a street portrait without making it look processed. If you want more step-by-step Lightroom editing tutorials and breakdowns of my exact settings, tell me what kind of look you want to learn next. #madewithlightroom #lightroom #photographytips #photoediting #photographer

The Power of Masking Masking is the secret sauce of professional photo editing because it allows for selective control rather than global changes. Instead of adjusting the brightness or color of the entire frame, you can isolate specific elements—like brightening a subject’s face or deepening the blue of a sunset—without affecting the rest of the image. ______________________ 📸 Sony A 7RV Lens: Sony F1.4 85mm GM II ______________________ IG: kabwe_photography #streetphotography #sonyalpha #madewithlightroom #photographers #sonyphinc

THIS is what you NEED for your next dark photo edit⬇️ ➡️ But first, make sure to follow @snugglysnoutsphotography for all your editing guides and pet photo inspiration! If you’ve ever been to the forest, or along a trail but ended up with dark, flat images here’s your guide on how to handle the edit using masks. Before getting into the masking, make sure to get the basic adjustments out of the way i.e. fixing the exposure, temperature etc. Nothing too fancy, just enough to create a good “base” to work with. After that, for the masking, it can be simplified into 4 simple steps: 1️⃣ Add depth and shift focus to the subject Darken the side opposite to your light source. Yes it’s sort of counter-intuitive since the photo may already be dark, but that’s ok. This helps add that added depth to your image and makes the light fall off look more natural. 2️⃣ Add the light source This of course helps in bringing back the light in an otherwise dark image. For this, increase the whites, exposure and adjust the temperature to your liking. You can even reduce dehaze for the softer look 3️⃣ Darken the foreground Again, this is to shift the focus to the subject. A big assumption here is that your photo is taken with the sun either behind the subject or at an angle to the subject (NOT behind you, the photographer). 4️⃣ Brighten the foliage Use the color range mask to brighten the green foliage. Yes you can do this on the HSL as well but I prefer using this as I can refine the selection and even combine this with other masks. But with a bright green foliage, your photo should start popping now. 🔥SHARE this with your friend who is learning to edit or SAVE it for your next editing session. #dogphotographer #madewithlightroom #sonyalpha

The Power of Masking! ✍️ ⬇️ Want to take your Instagram photos to the next level? Here are some essential editing tips to transform your snaps into captivating masterpieces. • My masking process to make photo more dynamic : - Subject: I usually start with my subject and correct things like shadows and exposure. - Background: I’ll usually then darken my whole background slightly so my subject stands out more. - Foreground: I’ll then darken the foreground to bring the viewers attention into my subject. - Highlights: I’ll then use the brush tool to mask out where I think the highlights are and exaggerate them. - Shadows: I’ll then do the exact same thing I did for the highlights but for the shadows. - Radial sun glow: I’ll then add a large radial mask coming from where the sun is to add a nice glow to the image. - Sky gradient: lastly I’ll add a linear gradient to the sky to also help draw the viewers eye into my subject. Elevate your photos with these editing pro tips✨↓ • Shoot & Edit ✍🏼 Get the settings right in camera first / the composition. Always shoot in RAW so you have more in depth editing options. • Light 💡 Good lighting captures more detail and gives you more to improve your photos while editing. This is because good lighting makes each pixel in your photo easier to edit. Make sure your photos are captured in well-lit environments. • Colour 🎨 Changing color tones in post production When editing a photo you might adjust the original color tones with the white balance slider, the tone curve tool or with color grading. For example changing greens to browns for a warm and earthy edit that’s currently popular. _____________________________________ ℹ️ Save it for later and Follow for more tips! @shadyessamph _____________________________________ #colorgrading #photoediting #lightroom #lightroomedits #photoshop #photoshoptutorial #madewithlightroom #photographytutorial #photography

PSA: All is not lost!!! If you have a photo that’s super grainy, dark, or with people in the background like this one, it just takes a few minutes of editing in @lightroom on Desktop to transform it completely. Here’s how I did it: 💻 Denoise - got rid of all the noise in my shadows from having a high ISO 💻 Generative Remove - removed all the people in the background in one click 💻 Masking - isolated the subject from the background to make tweaks without affecting the whole image 💻 Generative Upscale - a new feature that can 2x or 4x your image resolution! Photos right out of camera may lack excitement and that is completely normal. RAW format keeps extensive visual data - color depth, highlight headroom, shadow nuance and tonal balance. While it may look flat initially, this information is what allows precise editing later. 📸 Sony Alpha 1 🔍 Sony FE 300mm f2.8 #wildlifephotography #MadeWithLightroom #ShotFor500px #NatGeoYourShot #SonyAlpha
