I Slept Without a Pillow for 30 Days I didn’t do this because it’s trendy. I did it because I treat neck and upper-back pain every day. For me, removing the pillow meant less forced neck positioning, less tension through my traps, and fewer morning stiffness complaints in my own body. This doesn’t mean pillows are bad. It means the wrong pillow can be worse than no pillow at all. Sleep posture matters. Neck position matters. And comfort ≠ support. If you’ve been waking up stiff, sore, or constantly adjusting your pillow, it might be worth experimenting — slowly and intentionally. Correct breathing is more technical than most people think. Here are 3 essential fixes to reduce full-body tension and help you breathe more efficiently. 👇 1️⃣ Learn to fully exhale If old air stays trapped, the diaphragm can’t function properly. Try 5–10 slow, full exhales → short rest → repeat for 3 sets. 2️⃣ Restore rib and thoracic mobility Your diaphragm needs space to descend. Practice each mobility movement for 10 reps to free up the upper body. 3️⃣ Retrain overactive accessory muscles When neck and chest muscles lift the rib cage unnecessarily, breathing becomes shallow and inefficient. Spend 2 minutes, 2–3 times a day, practicing calm, aligned breathing and letting these muscles relax. When these three pieces come together, your breath becomes smoother, deeper, and more effective — and you’ll notice better posture with less overall tension.
