What can be the starting salary for Anesthesiologist Assistants? 💰 This is a NON inclusive list of all available positions. Currently, these are the top offers for full time positions for new grads with 0-1 yr experience. It depends and varies on what state you’re working in. In general for 2025, the trend seems to be $190-250k for new graduates. Of course there will be opportunities that offer more with $30-100k sign on bonuses or less. Whenever you’re looking at a job offer, take into consideration what your hours are. Is it only 40hrs/week? Or are you forced to take call/weekends/nights as well? Your base salaries will increase with years of experience. If you’re looking to put in the hours, working extra shifts on your off days, etc, you can expect to make well over $350k/year. Ps. This is not an inclusive list of all the opportunities available in the US. What’s the starting salary for Anesthesiologist Assistants? 💰 It depends and varies on what state you’re working in. In general for 2024, the trend seems to be $180-215k for new graduates. Choosing a major as a pre-anesthesiologist assistant student One of my most frequently asked questions is over which major to pick. I picked a major based on my personal interest in chemistry prior to learning about the AA profession. After graduating I learned about CAAs and luckily had the pre-reqs to apply to a few schools. With schools getting more competitive, it’s riskier to limit your options if you want to be a CAA, so choosing a major that covers the pre-reqs may be more effective at maximizing your eligibility. For example, I had a friend whose goal was to be a physician assistant since starting college. She chose a major based on PA school pre-requisites. She majored in physiology. In a different college, it may have been a different major. Had I known about CAAs early enough in undergrad, I may have picked a major based on researching the most common AA school pre-requisites. I also know of nontraditional applicants, who return to college to complete the pre-reqs and volunteer/work in healthcare in different capacities (ex: EMT) and are also accepted. Choosing a non traditional major can result in longer time frame to become a CAA but it is still possible to be accepted. Ultimately as long the math and science pre-reqs are complete, the major can be in anything, and you can still be eligible to apply to AA school.
