The very first event that kickstarted my passion and marked the beginning of my personal healing journey was The Clothesline Project at my local community college. Although this event is meant to represent violence against women including domestic violence and assault, it was the first time I found anything in the community that resonated with me.
We were asked to write a message either to support a survivor, what you’d want to hear as a survivor, or to just get what’s off your chest as a survivor. This is where I decided to write out what I’ve always told myself to get me through to the next day - Surviving Makes You Stronger 👚
One day I plan to host one of my own.
