#SantaAnaPD Homicide Detectives are seeking the public’s help in a 2025 homicide investigation. On January 2, 2025, at about 7:30 p.m., Gerson Ramirez Perez (37), stepped out of his home in the 1400 block of S. Minnie Street to throw away his trash. While in the alley, Gerson was shot multiple times and later pronounced deceased at the scene. We have very limited information regarding this incident, although it is believed that multiple witnesses saw what happened. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Corporal Bruns at (714) 245-8441 or SAPD Homicide Section at (714) 245-8390. ***A reward is being offered for any information on this case through the Gang Reward Program.

#SantaAnaPD Officer Involved Shooting: Incident Update Today, February 1, 2025, the Menifee Police Department contacted the Santa Ana Police Department, requesting our assistance in locating a homicide suspect in our city. #SantaAnaPD officers located a vehicle occupied by the suspect, and a pursuit ensued, which led officers into the city of Newport Beach. The suspect drove onto the Newport Pier, where he stopped, exited his vehicle, and an officer-involved shooting occurred. A firearm was recovered from the suspect’s possession. The suspect was struck by gunfire and was declared deceased at the scene. No officers or bystanders were injured. As is customary with officer-involved shootings, an independent investigation was initiated by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. The Newport Beach Police Department @newportbeachpd , Orange County Coroner’s Office, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab also responded to the scene to investigate. The name of the decedent is being withheld at this time. We recognize that multiple citizens were on the pier and may have witnessed the incident. Any witnesses are asked to call the Orange County District Attorney’s Office at 714-664-3964

#SantaAnaPD #PressRelease Arrest Made in Child Pornography Investigation SANTA ANA, Calif. (August 27, 2025) — A 37-year-old man was arrested at his home for possession of child pornography. An investigator from the Santa Ana Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force discovered that Juan Diego Rodriguez (37) of Santa Ana was downloading Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) from the internet. On August 27, 2025, Special Crimes Detectives served a search warrant at Rodriguez’s residence in the 400 block of S. Poplar Street. During the search, multiple electronic devices were seized, and evidence related to the downloading of child pornography was located. Rodriguez was arrested and booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code §311.11(a) — Felony Possession of Child Pornography. The Santa Ana Police Department is proud to be a member of the Los Angeles Regional ICAC Task Force, which is dedicated to the investigation and prosecution of individuals involved in the abuse and exploitation of children via the internet. Detectives are attempting to identify this suspect, who stole approximately $700 worth of merchandise from the Target on S. Bristol Street. This morning, #SantaAnaPD QOLT and Directed Patrol officers, working alongside Vice Detectives, served a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of S. Lowell Street following multiple community complaints of suspected illegal gambling. Inside the home, officers located seven illegal gambling machines and seized nearly $3,000 in cash. Code Enforcement also responded, issuing administrative fines for multiple violations. Another example of proactive enforcement driven by community concerns.

Video shows her striking the vehicle, driving to the opposite end of the lot, then walking back to inspect the damage before leaving the area. She’s described as a white or Hispanic female, heavy set, wearing a dark-colored blouse and dark pants. She was driving a gray 2012–2017 Toyota Camry with oxidation on the hood and aftermarket chrome wheels and tires.
