وقتی صحبت از کشتیهای عظیم میشه، معمولاً کسی به پرههاشون فکر نمیکنه؛ همون پروانههایی که حرکت کل این غول آهنی به اونها بستگی داره. اما زیر آب، یه شغل پنهان و خیلی خاص وجود داره:
"تمیز کردن پرههای کشتی!"
یه غواص صنعتی باید در عمق آب، با تجهیزات کامل، خودش رو به پرههای کشتی برسونه و ذرهذره جرمها، جلبکها و موجودات چسبیده بهش رو پاک کنه. چرا؟ چون حتی یه لایه نازک جرم میتونه باعث افزایش شدید مصرف سوخت و آسیب جدی به موتور بشه.
شغلی ساکت، خطرناک، اما بسیار مهم.
وقتی همه روی عرشه هستن، اون پایین یه قهرمان ناشناس داره کار میکنه...

H.این فقط خزهزدایی نیست.
این یعنی کاهش مصرف سوخت حدود ۵ تا ۱۰ درصد (و در موارد شدید حتی بیشتر)،
یعنی برگشت راندمان واقعی بدنه،
یعنی فشار کمتر روی موتور و سیستم رانش.
خزه و فولینگ اگر رها بشن، مقاومت بدنه رو بالا میبرن،
سرعت میاد پایین، مصرف سوخت میره بالا،
و زنگزدگی جایی رشد میکنه که دیده نمیشه.
اگه داکینگ به موقع انجام نشه ریسکها واقعیان:
کاهش شدید راندمان، افزایش هزینه سوخت،
آسیب به پوشش بدنه، خوردگی پنهان،
و در نهایت تعمیرات سنگینتر و توقفهای ناخواسته.
دریا با کشتی مهربونه،
این بیتوجهیه که گرون تموم میشه.

A big vision is coming together for many of our coastal communities, including Seward: The significant Coast Guard investments coming to our state for new vessels, infrastructure, and housing are also creating a boom in the private sector, particularly in ship maintenance, like with the great company JAG, which is expanding across our state. We’re also working on getting some of the 16 new icebreakers we funded in the budget reconciliation bill homeported in Alaska—just like the Storis in Juneau. It's an exciting time!
