Most people spend their whole trip on the main beach and never make it down to Midnight Pass. Midnight Pass sits at the southern tip of Siesta Key. It’s an inlet that was actually reopened during Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and the water here is on another level. Crystal clear, calm, and honestly some of the most unreal water I’ve seen anywhere in Florida. The catch? It’s a little hard to get to. The best way is by boat or kayak, and there are plenty of rental spots nearby to make it happen. Out of every place I’ve been in Florida… this one genuinely stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. Definitely coming back. Myakka River State Park is one of Florida’s largest and oldest state parks, featuring 37,000 acres of wetlands, prairies, and pinelands near Sarasota, The Sarasota Art Museum (SAM) is Sarasota’s only museum dedicated to contemporary art, located in the historic Sarasota High School building and part of the Ringling College Museum Campus. It’s soft, powdery, and stays cool even in the middle of the day because it’s made almost entirely of quartz crystal. You genuinely can’t find sand like this anywhere else in the country. Details 👇 Have you ever heard of Midnight Pass? 🌊👇 Follow @limitless_euphoria for more Florida travel and history! 🌴 This natural inlet has existed for hundreds of years, separating Siesta Key and Casey Key and serving as a vital waterway for wildlife, fishermen, and boaters. In the 1980s the pass began migrating north, threatening the beachfront homes of two wealthy Siesta Key residents. So they petitioned the government, brought in the bulldozers, and on December 5, 1983 Midnight Pass was filled in and closed off forever 😤 Or so they thought. The closure devastated Little Sarasota Bay for over 40 years. Seagrass beds disappeared, oyster populations collapsed, water quality tanked, and an entire ecosystem suffered so that two people could protect their properties 🌿 Then in 2024, Hurricanes Helene and Milton rolled through back to back and nature just took it back 🌀 The pass blew wide open for the first time in four decades and the water is already healing itself 🌊 What you’re seeing in this video is a piece of Florida history. The beach is one of the reasons and here’s why Siesta Key beach is rated #1… When I was deciding on a location to move to in Florida, having access to a nice beach with good sand was important to me The sand is powder soft and made of quartz so it’s not hot on your feet, even during the summer heat 🏖️ The water is clear and calm, so you can relax and float, swim or just wade in the water 🌊 Siesta beach has free public parking, concessions, wheelchair access to the beach, restrooms, sand volleyball nets, covered playgrounds, covered picnic areas and on Sunday evenings they have a drum circle 🥁 📲If you’re relocating and have your eye on Sarasota, Florida, comment GUIDE and I’ll send you my free relocation guide. #movingtoflorida #relocatingtoflorida #siestakey #siestakeybeach

☀️ Top 10 Favorite Things About Siesta Key, FL For a break from Chicago winters each year, we head down to Siesta Key, Florida, a small beach town on the Gulf. We love the tradition of this getaway and here are our top reasons why! See the “FL 🍊” highlight button on my page for more. 🏖️ Siesta Key Beach Of course! A gorgeous white sand beach with a large, free parking lot. Don’t miss the Sunday night drum circle. 🛝 Beach Playground Sandcastle-themed playground on the edge of the beach and next to a large snack shack 🥣 @CaptainCurts Clam Chowder They have won awards for some of the best clam chowder and we agree! (coming from two people who lived in Boston for a couple of years). Good spot for live music, too. 🚃 Free Trolley Ride the trolley from the village all the way down Midnight Pass (to Captain Curt’s or wherever you’re staying!) 🦪 @skoysterbar go for the oysters, but also the seafood, drinks, and live music. Great spot right in the Village. 🏘️ Walk Canal Street love a morning walk to grab a coffee through the brightly colored houses 🌅 Beach Sunsets Do not miss! My favorite place to watch a sunset. Grab a drink from the @thebigtikilounge beforehand 🍩 Meaney’s Mini-donuts Little shack in the village with coffee and amazing doughnut skewers (we love the French toast ones, but you can’t go wrong) 🍦 Fudge Factory Treats & Mural We take an annual photo at the Siesta Key painting. And we love their ice cream, but they have so many delicious treats to chose from! 🧱 Siesta Key Village Plaza We always visit the @lillypulitzer and @rochellesboutiques shops; also love smoothies and bialeys (definitely don’t call them bagels) at @beancoffeehouse and wine tastings at @siestakeywinebar. There’s also a @kilwins, @cafe_gabbiano Italian, and other cute shops Honorable Mentions: rent a @mokeamerica to explore, visit St. Armand’s for shopping/restaurants, and @sarasotachildrensgarden #visitflorida #siestakey #familytravel #travelwithkids #floridawithkids
