Hockey Shot Mistakes - Ep. 6 One mistake that’s killing your snapshot: you’re not lifting the heel of your blade before the release. 🏒 When the heel stays too flat, you lose clean puck contact and your shot comes off slower and easier to read. Slightly raise the heel as you load and snap through -it helps the puck roll off the blade more explosively and makes your release quicker and more deceptive. Small detail. Quick Tips for Shooting Hockey Snapshot 🎯 ✅ QUICKER TWITCH MOTION. This means you have less time to load the puck, cradle and shoot the puck. It’s not about power or accuracy, it’s about getting the puck on and off your stick. Be urgent and intentional about being quick. Power and Accuracy will follow. ✅ WHERE TO SHOOT. Look for low glove or low block. Goalies have the habit of twitching for higher body shots therefore it’s natural for them to react in an upwards motion. Leaving room between the pad and glove/blocker. ✅ PULL TOP HAND BACK QUICKER. The top hand usually runs the show when you do anything with a hockey stick. If you become more intentional about pull that top hand back the quicker your release will be. Try quick exercises and fast motion movements to ensure a more enhanced shot. #hockeyshot #snapshots #wristshot #hockeyshooting #hockeyplayers #hockey
