LIINTHESTUDIO Inspired by the impressionistic brushwork of Corot's landscapes tonight.
I had hoped to paint "outside" today but with 24 mile an hour winds, no way today! Yet tomorrow, finally - they will be down yet only for a day.
So I went out scouting...Pea Island, Bodner Bridge, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Coquina Beach and The Elizabethan Gardens. Pea Island is my first choice then the gardens.
Here's what's on the easel, oil on a wood panel with a very absorbent gesso. It steadies the paint and allows me to dab, move it, lift and add again.
ALLA prima essentially means one painting session ...for those not familiar. And Corot and Richard Schmidt were brilliant alla prima painters and they continue to speak to me.
Have more paint on the pallette, so ready to paint one more tonight...
