CBSacramento Fire Captain Joe Hunter, a fan-favorite player on Survivor 48, threw out the first pitch at Wednesday's A's game vs. the Chicago Cubs at Sutter Health Park.
The fire captain says Survivor, which includes his viral bond with fellow competitor Eva Erickson, has changed his life.

SASutter Health is bringing a new, faster treatment for serious depression to the Sacramento region, the first local health system to introduce the SAINT electromagnetic treatment developed at Stanford University.
SAINT, short for Stanford Accelerated Intelligent Neuromodulation Therapy, uses magnets to gently stimulate a small part of the brain linked to depression. It is meant for adults whose depression has not improved after trying at least two antidepressant medicines.
A second local health system, UC Davis Health, will start offering the treatment early next year.

Pearl came to California in the 1950s looking for opportunity for her, her husband and two daughters. They found it in Antioch. She was proud to be one of many first employees at Sutter Health in Antioch when it was first constructed.
One hundred years ago, in 1924, the world was recovering from a global pandemic called the Spanish flu, which infected about 27% of the world’s population. Sweets like Dum Dums and Popsicles were invented. The 1924 Summer Olympics were held in Paris, France, and the first Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France.
At home, President Calvin Coolidge introduced an immigration law restricting immigration to the U.S. in response to many immigrants after World War I. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicked off for the first time, and MGM Studios, one of the world’s leading media companies, was founded. Pearl, you remind us that our past is not as far away as we believe. The evolution of humanity is constant, and we must look to our past to build on innovations and avoid repeating our mistakes.
It was a true honor to be so close to history. Her celebration serves as a reminder that we’re not so far removed from our past.
