I always thought I needed to… “go hard or go home” “feel the pain to know it’s working” “push harder to do it right” While there can be lessons to tap into here… if the underlying force behind an action is rooted in punishment, no matter how “healthy” the choice, there is a perpetuating habit of self harm and disapproval. Things I am choosing to leave behind. Yes, spring is a time for cleansing and renewal so we can balance symptoms of Spring Kapha like: • Stiff muscles • Chest pain • Shortness of breath • Heart palpitations • Weakness or dizziness • Mucus & hay fever • Itchy skin However, it’s important to gently move into a spring routine during this transition (blog & video up to go deeper). Why cleanse gently instead of a quick change? If the nervous system feels attacked, the body will not let anything go. If we see cleansing as a tool like a hammer, we could use it to build a strong foundation and sustainable home. Or hit ourselves over the head. Again and again. So, rather then reinforce patterns of perfectionism, self blame, and punishment… We move with nature, we get curious, we slow down, we “do less” to do more.
