NI“Precision Braking on the Giruno Simulator 🎯🚆”
Description 📃⬇️⬇️:
At the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne 🇨🇭, inside the 🚆 railway section, there’s a full-scale 1:1 simulator of a Stadler RABe 501 “Giruno” cab 😍. Using the Locsim program 💻, it lets you experience the journey from Milan 🇮🇹 to Zurich 🇨🇭 (or the other way around 🔁).
Before starting ▶️, you can choose your departure station 🚉, and you must always stop at the next stop 🚦 before deciding whether to continue or let someone else take over 🙌.
For my run, I chose to start inside the Gotthard Base Tunnel 🚇🇨🇭 and drive all the way to Osogna-Cresciano 🚉 in the Canton of Ticino.
In this video, I’m showing you the braking manoeuvre as I approach and stop at Osogna-Cresciano — a small but iconic station along Switzerland’s north–south axis. 🚆🛑✨
And even though it’s “just” a simulator, it still requires full focus and maximum concentration — exactly like in a real cab. 🎧💡🔥
