The Old Library of Trinity College is a must-see in Dublin. The 65-meter-long Long Room is the main chamber. Normally, it contains massive bookshelves that house around 200,000 centuries-old books. But if the books get temporarily removed for a conservation project before you visit, that’s just bad luck. 🙁

RTThe president of Trinity College Dublin’s students’ union has said a protest on the grounds of the university in opposition to the Gaza war will continue “indefinitely until our demands are met”.
The protest, which began just before 9pm last night, has continued with around 73 students and 43 tents camped on the Trinity grounds.
The protesters say they are opposing the war in Gaza and what organisers say is the university’s business and academic connections to Israel.
Access to the Book of Kells has been affected, with students blocking its entrance with benches.
Trinity College has confirmed access to the Book of Kells and the Old Library is closed today due to the protest and added that all ticket holders have been refunded.
President of Trinity College Dublin Students’ Union (TCDSU) László Molnárfi said the demonstration will continue “indefinitely until our demands are met”.
He said that the encampment was launched in “solidarity with Gaza”.
