This is a slap in the face to all #Bengals fans and I’ve been one my whole damn life. When something isn’t working anymore and this clearly isn’t, you change. You adapt. You move on. To not do so is to admit that you have zero problem with the outcome you’re currently in. When the batteries stop working in the remote control, you replace them with new ones. When your tires lose too much tread and become dangerous to drive on, you get new ones. When your kids shoes get too tight and it’s uncomfortable for them, you get new ones. This ownership doesn’t care. They don’t care about you, they don’t care about me, and they don’t care about the city of Cincinnati which we all love dearly. They care about making money hand over fist on the backs of all the hard working Cincinnatians who show up year after year to watch this parody. We have the perfect QB for Cincinnati. We have 2 incredible WR. We’re wasting it all because our ownership is too cheap to hire a staff to adequately evaluate talent and build a team around them. We’re watching the prime of @joeyb_9 be wasted because we don’t know how to build a defense around him in the draft. What Mike Brown doesn’t seem to realize is that swinging and missing on these defensive draft picks probably costs him more money in the end than hiring a real staff to evaluate talent and getting it right the first time. It’s short sighted. It’s irresponsible. It’s inexcusable. It’s sadly predictable. I’m 52 years old and I’ve watched this cycle over and over again. Every now and then, we hit lightening in a bottle and make a run and it’s just enough to keep us on the hook as a fan base. We can’t build an enduring winning franchise though because we don’t have winning leadership or ownership. I love Cincinnati. I love its people. I love our passion for this team and for football in general. I hate what this ownership has put us through. We deserve better. These players deserve better. This post from Mike Brown today was a pathetic one, but a sadly predictable one nonetheless. He’s got no reason to change, we keep showing up and he keeps making more money than his family will ever know what to do with. #whodey #bengals
