This is the exact progression I teach my students to get to the 360. Every trick builds on the one before it.
1. Ollie in the flats. This is where it all starts. You’re learning proper alignment, how to create your own pop, and how to keep your upper and lower body working together.
2. Floater. This gets you comfortable at the top of the wave. You’re learning how to pivot off the top and get back into the push.
3. Chop hop. This combines the ollie and the floater. You’re creating your own pop off the top of the wave. It’s the bridge between tricks in the flat and tricks off the top!
4. Air. You’re using the wave to help you get air, but you’re also using the ollie to create your own pop off the top. You need the foundation from the first three tricks to control it.
5. Lipslide. This is where you learn to disconnect your fins using your hips. Your upper body stays aligned with the wave while your hips drive the tail towards the boat. This is the gateway to the 360.
6. 360. Everything you’ve built leads here. The pop from the ollie, the comfort at the top from the floater, the fin release from the lipslide. If you’ve followed the progression, the 360 becomes the natural next step.
If you build proper fundamentals, you can progress forever. 💪🏼

Yeah… neither can we.
The cooler still gets cracked open. The playlist still gets turned up. Someone still jumps in before the water even warms up. Kids still end up passed out on the seats on the ride back in. And the sunset looks exactly the same no matter what’s pulling the throttle.
We’ve had days on brand new boats and days on boats that have been around the lake longer than some of the crew. Scratches, faded vinyl, a few stories behind every dent. And you know what happens once you leave the dock?
Nobody notices.
Because out on the water nobody is comparing price tags or model years. The lake doesn’t care what badge is on the side. All it does is give you a place to slow down and spend a few hours with the people that matter.
It’s never really been about the boat.
It’s about the friend that wipes out and everyone laughs.
The kids begging for “one more ride.”
The quiet moment floating while the sun drops behind the trees.
That’s the part people remember.
Years from now nobody will remember what boat you had.
But they’ll remember those days on the water like they happened yesterday. 🚤

FAThe best surf speed depends on what the rider wants — and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.
The average sweet spot for most setups is anywhere from 11–11.6 mph. That’s where the wave is usually at its most balanced — good length, good push, and enough pocket to actually surf.
But here’s where it gets interesting:
🐢 Slower speed— the wave gets shorter and steeper. More of a punchy, vertical feel. Great for riders who like to stay close to the boat and work the lip.
💨 Faster speed— the wave stretches out and flattens a little. Longer wave, more room to move, but less push. Better for riders who like to pump and generate their own speed.
So before you just lock in a number, ask your rider what they want out of the wave. Steep and punchy or long and mellow? Then dial from there.
Every boat and ballast setup is different too — these are starting points, not rules. Get on the water and tune it to YOUR setup.
