JEOn this Workbench Wednesday, I’m sharing how we created six comfortable - and mobile! - JoolTool stations for the new studio.
- We started with the BEKVAM kitchen cart from IKEA.
- We installed the middle shelf low enough to comfortably accommodate a JoolTool vacuum and a short length of hose.
- Then we used a Forstner bit to create a hole in the top, dead center.
- We used a 3D printed connector/splitter to hold the hose in place.
- We installed two JoolTools per cart offset from one another; this left room for the top vacuum hoses plus working space to the right of each machine.
- Each cart got its own power strip so moving it is just one plug to undo and redo.
- A bin for each machine holds the most-used discs and gets stored on the bottom shelf when not in use.
Each cart comfortably accommodates two students working in a very small footprint, which means we can tuck it into lots of spaces around the studio, unlike traditional buffer stations.
