The Palagiri House rises from a dense neighborhood, designed to create openness within a compact urban setting. By lifting the structure above a parking level, space was freed for gardens, giving the home a rare set-back presence in Kochi.
Inside, spaces unfold as layered sequences—a ramp and sit-out lead to a double-height drawing room, followed by level shifts that connect family areas, private bedrooms, and a landscaped rooftop shaded by a solar roof.
Light, privacy, and greenery shape the home. Bedrooms are tucked to the rear for quiet retreat yet open to courtyards for ventilation and light. Cultural buffers separate formal and family areas, while landscaped pockets soften every corner.
Efficiently planned and built in just 18 months, the residence transforms a tight city plot into a calm, nature-filled family home.
