So we officially have been hit with Whooping Cough in our home, which has landed in a trip to the doctors a swab for testing and antibiotics, of course being a natural minded mumma it's a no brainer I have natural remedies on hand to kick this thing in the butt!! Yesterday I did a mad dash to the chemist warehouse which is an hour from home to pick up some supplies to support us as we get better here is what I picked up and why: 💦 Flo Saline Plus Nasal Spray( Preservative free)- Benzalkonium chloride (BKC) is a quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agent included in some nasal solutions (including glucocorticosteroids) to prevent the growth of bacteria.  It is advised that people with asthma and eczema should avoid this preservative as it has side effects. 🍭 Comvita Kids Manuka Honey Pops - Mauka Honey Especially UMF 10+ provide natural and power antibacterial properties that helps sooth the throat and support the family through colds and flus and helping fight of bacterial infections. All while tasting good @comvita_nz @comvita_au For Adults or Mumma and Papa bear- ArmaForce Immuno Burst with Echinacea- Echinacea helps support the immune system when fighting illness and upper respiratory tract infections, Nadal congestion and mild fever. My defence against whooping cough taking over. Finally I got some great advise from Nicky over @nourished_and_vibrant she is an amazing pedriatric nurse who advised having a nebuliser and saline soilloution on hand for those times our little ones are sick as it helps aid and assist the airways by loosening up the mucus for easy removal. This really helped us last night as my 5 year old was struggling to cough and getting oxygen in to her chest cause of the cough I placed the nebuliser on her face with the mask and after w few minutes she coughed much looser. This is such a handy thing to have and is what they would do for your little one in a hospital also. Being Empowered to make choices to support your family can be so overwhelming I know I be been there but it is possible and just trust your mumma instinct that you are the best person to help your child and family and you are armed with the power as a mum.

Number 3: Adding cinnamon to something that’s a little damp or cold like yoghurt is a great hack to support digestive fire 🔥 if your kiddo has a preference for dairy, try to leave the yoghurt out of the fridge for at least 30 mins so it’s not too cold 🥶. Number 4: I always add a splash of boiled water 💧 to Edie’s water and milk. Warm water is easy on the digestive system.
