HAAnother monoprint using a foil covered card takeaway lid as a plate, this time playing with wiping a lot of the ink away to leave the subject in focus.
I had lots of lovely interest and questions from my last post so I’ll cover some of the main points again here for you just in case:
Equipment used:
- takeaway container lid - basically a foil coated card and yes you can reuse it a few times if you’re gentle 👍🏻
- Ink from Charbonnel - Paynes Grey etching/relief oil based - but any that’s thick enough to work with and not dry out quickly will work
- paper type unknown as an old off cut but its quite thick so has some give to it when going through the press - I’ve soaked it in water for around 15 minutes and then blotted it touch dry to get that embossed edge - plus I think it prints slightly better than dry 🤷♀️
