Il processo è semplice: si parte da una base di cemento, si gonfia un grande pallone che fa da stampo, lo si copre con una rete d'acciaio e poi con cemento. Una volta solidificato, si rimuove il pallone. Questo sistema offre vantaggi notevoli: - costruzione 3 volte più veloce - usa il 50% in meno di materiali - consuma metà energia per riscaldamento e raffreddamento In 60 anni sono state costruite oltre 1.600 Binishell in 23 paesi. En la década del 60 el diseñador italiano Dante Bini se propuso repensar la arquitectura. Para él la clave era levantar nuestras casas de una forma distinta. Y gracias a ese impulso acabó desarrollando el método Binishell, que ofrece ni más ni menos que viviendas inflables de hormigón. La palabra combina el apellido de su creador, Dante Bini, y "shell", que significa "concha" en inglés. La clave está en el uso de un "neumoformo" que se infla para dar forma a la futura estructura abovedada. La pieza es básicamente un enorme globo que se fija al suelo, se hincha, dota de barras de refuerzo especiales y recubre luego con hormigón proyectado. Cuando el proceso termina puede retirarse el globo y queda una estructura sólida, firme y esférica.
