My tip for this move is to make sure in step 2 that once you place your foot behind your knee, you keep it there and don’t disconnect it has you drop down. Do not try this on your first go. 🙃 Protect your head. If you try doing this, you risk losing the strength in your arms, causing you to drop. So, be safe. 🙏 💪 Pump your arms 🦵and legs, twice. Once to get you up off, then bring those legs down, and kick up again. 🙆🏾‍♂️ Stetch that side out. When your holding yourself up, you have to become like a bow 🏹. Gymnast flares vs Breakdance flares. I love the Bboy attention my flare tutorial got. But there was a good amount of confusion in the comments. At a base level (basic foundation) - both gymnast and breakdance flares are the same. But as you get better and better at doing them, you start to adapt to whatever your needs are. Gymnasts need - Narrow hand width - Consistent hand placements - And the ability to keep those first two things, while they travel, twist, and go to handstand. Breakdancers have the entire floor to work with. And that lets them progress into a kind of esthetics that the pommel gods don't play friendly with. So can my flare tutorial help you learn bboy flares? ✅️ 100% It will give you a strong foundation that you can grow into any flare. The process it built for control first. Develops strength over time. And adds in momentum once you have a solid understanding 👌🏾 Thats the learning process.
