Firstly, yes that is (or was) a rat 🐭. I buy them frozen in large packs which I then leave on the counter for a few hours to thaw before feeding to my snakes. The rodents don’t come back to life. Snakes have to eat, and this is the food that is nutritious for them. I don’t participate in live feedings unless it’s absolutely necessary. Now that we’ve got that out of the way… So THAT fleshy thing that opens and closes is a snakes glottis - a fascinating and vital part of its anatomy, located at the back of its tongue. It acts as the opening to the trachea (the snakes windpipe), allowing the snake to breathe. Unlike humans, whose glottis remains in a fixed position, a snake’s glottis is highly mobile and can extend outward, especially when the snake is consuming large prey. The glottis ensures that the snake can continue breathing even when its mouth is entirely occupied with swallowing food. Additionally, the glottis is equipped with a small, valve-like structure that can produce a hissing sound by forcing air through it, serving as a defense mechanism. 👅 🫁

A python was found inside a household closet after entering the home in pursuit of prey. In parts of Australia, snakes regularly move through suburban and urban areas, especially when food sources such as possums are present. Enclosed indoor spaces can provide warmth, cover, and a temporary sense of security for a hunting snake. Australia’s native wildlife often overlaps with human environments. Pythons are non venomous constrictors that follow scent trails and movement, not buildings or property lines. When prey enters roof cavities or wall spaces, snakes may follow without distinction between indoor and outdoor territory. After feeding, the snake was safely removed by professionals and relocated to nearby bushland. This approach reduces risk to residents while allowing the animal to continue its natural behavior elsewhere. Situations like this highlight how wildlife movement is driven by opportunity rather than intent, even in highly developed areas.

Biggest Burmese Python I have ever owned🤯 This girl was not only very long but super dense as well😳 Luckily she was a very sweet snake and never really showed any aggression😁 Snakes this big and dense are very strong since they have to use those muscles on their bottom side to drag their large bodies everywhere🙌

Finished up the taxidermy on the 198lber captured by @carter_jg @holdenhunterr @treybarber11 @mike_2lf @cole_elf Check out the THEETH this python was packing! Burmese Pythons actually have SIX rows of teeth, 4 on top, 2 on the bottom. I've been bitten many times and I can tell you it's not fun 😂 This particular skin and skull were for a client, but I do have other skulls and skins available, send me a DM if you're interested!

Why Georgia??!! Why??!! It's basically the ending of an era! And it doesn't just end with The Burmese; I mean, everything is affected: 90's Jamz and Nysync Playlists may slowly fall out of rotation, Epic Mustaches may cease to be grown and video recorded, Facebook Burm groups will grow quiet without emotional "its just Het Green" discussions, and how many shirts will now have to live out their entirety with all of their sleeves intact??!! Its a travesty!! But seriously, it does suck to put years into a vision, watch babies crawl out of eggs, spend seasons caring for and growing those babies, finally seeing that very snake laying on a pile of her own eggs, Then watching the actual snakes you envisioned many years prior crawl into your hand; Only to have to say... Welp, I guess I can't have these anymore.... But nonetheless, I welcome and accept any shift, as a Greater Power directing me on a new path; a path that will be Better! And, Ultimately More Fulfilling than what I could have ever imagined! Looking forward to The Next Chapter!! ...... But, Hey, I did make some Pretty Dope Burm Babies though!! #burmese #burmesepython #burmesepythonsofinstagram #albinoburmesepython #hypoburmesepython #leopardburmesepython #bubblegumAF #itsathing #🐆 #peachstatepythons #python #pythons #pythonsofinstagram #reptile #reptiles #reptilesofinstagram #snake #snakes #snakesofinstagram #pet #pets #petsofinstagram #animal #animals #animalsofinstagram
