MCHOW I MAKE MY CAKE POPS 🍰💌🫶🏼 this is sooo easy and they taste amazing! the perfect little treat for valentine’s day 🎀
disclaimer: i did not come up with this! i saw it on pinterest 5+ years ago and have been doing it ever since, but if you know who came up with this recipe please tag them 😚
what you’ll need:
♥️ oreos
♥️ cream cheese
♥️ chocolate melts
♥️ crisco (optional)
♥️ sprinkles
♥️ sticks
steps:
🤍 grind oreos until they’re a soft powder
🤍 mix with cream cheese (adding a little bit at a time) until it forms a dough
🤍 roll into balls
🤍 poke holes (don’t push that far down)
🤍 melt a few chocolates, dip the stick in them, and push into the cake pop to adhere it
🤍 let harden
🤍 melt more chocolates and coat the cake pops adding sprinkles after each time! you want to work quickly since the melts will harden
🤍 let dry and that’s it!

BEI’ve learned a few other things along the way but these are my TOP 3 !!😍
Tip 1: If you’ve ever had a cakepop crack after dipping it is probably because your dough was too cold for your chocolate.
Tip 2: When making Cakepops you want a “play dough” consistency. Some people choose to add in frosting but sometimes if you add more than you need.. your cakepops will slide off the stick. The best way to get the perfect consistency is to just mix your cake into a dough immediately out of the oven. Let the steam do the work and you’ll get a perfect consistency each time!
Tip 3: EVERY baker should have a food scale it honestly comes in handy more than you’d think! It may seem like an extra step to have to weight each cakepop but it’s honestly SOOO worth it! I wish I would’ve bought one sooner.

2️⃣ Flatten Your Dough 🫓
After weighing your dough, flatten it between your palms to push out any air bubbles. Then, roll it upward into a ball. This simple step helps prevent cracking in your chocolate coating.
3️⃣ Never Dip Frozen 🥶🙅🏻♀️
Dipping frozen cake pops into warm chocolate can cause cracks. Plus, condensation from defrosting can lead to seizing and clumping of the chocolate, making dipping much trickier.
4️⃣ Dip Twice ✌🏼
Dipping once may be too thin, revealing the color of the cake inside (not good for gender reveals). It also creates a cleaner, smooth look and a better cake to chocolate ratio in every bite!
