Ship chartering is like renting a ship for specific needs, whether transporting cargo or passengers. Here’s a quick breakdown of this important maritime process:
Shipowner: Owns the vessel and is responsible for its maintenance.
= Charterer: Rents the ship, plans the voyage, and handles cargo logistics.
& Shipbroker: Acts as a middleman, connecting the shipowner with a suitable charterer and earning a commission.
Types of Charters:
Voyage Charter: Rent for a specific voyage. Payment is
based on cargo volume or a fixed rate.
Time Charter: Rent for a set period, paying daily/ monthly rates. Charterers plan routes and manage schedules.
Bareboat Charter: Charterer takes full control with their
own crew, handling all operations and risks.

The world is sick and so are the people in it. We often refuse to realize the people who trigger our anger judgement and disdain often display charterer defects that we ourselves are guilty of in different ways.
Through meditation we grow self aware. The prayer we grow in tolerance and grace. When we are humble we can ask God to see our enemies as hurt children. We can ask ourselves what is it about this person I don’t like that I am also guilty of? When we realize these faults we can ask God to promptly remove them.
By practicing this contrary action we begin to learn that our perceived opponents are actually there to teach us how NOT to be. We can see them in a new light and be grateful that their unacceptable behavior is cause for us to change ourselves. This is the power of God working in our lives with our fellows.
