Classic New England Clam Chowder Ingredients: - 2 cups chopped clams (fresh or canned) - 4 slices bacon, diced - 1 onion, chopped - 2 celery stalks, diced - 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed - 2 cups clam juice - 1 cup milk - 1 cup heavy cream - 2 tbsp flour - 2 tbsp butter - Salt and pepper, to taste Instructions: 1- In a pot, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside. 2- Sauté onion and celery in bacon fat until soft. 3- Stir in butter and flour to make a roux. 4- Add clam juice, potatoes, and simmer until potatoes are tender. 5- Stir in milk, cream, and clams; cook gently for 5 minutes. 6- Season with salt, pepper, and top with bacon before serving. #fblifestyle https://www.facebook.com/cherokee.mclellan.9/subscribenow?surface=pinned_comments

Yummy clam chowder recipe to kick off our Fall Edition-Soup Saturday . . . Posted @withregram • @melissajorealrecipes I took a trip to Boston, and one of my favorite things was the clam chowder; I think I ordered it at every single restaurant I went to. Here is my take on trying to make the taste as good as possible based on what I tried all over the north end of Boston. I don’t know exactly what they put in it, but here’s my best effort but I will tell you it was absolutely delicious regardless! I hope you love it here’s the recipe: In a large stockpot fry four pieces of bacon until they’re nice and crispy then remove and set aside. Leave the bacon fat in the pot and add 2 tablespoons of butter. In the same pot sauté 1 chopped onion, 6-7 cloves of minced garlic, and 3 stalks of chopped celery. Sauté until a little bit golden then add salt& pepper and 1 tsp of dried thyme. Add 4 tbsp of all purpose flour & whisk at least 2 minutes. Non stop. Add 1 & 1/2 cups of vegetable stock & 1 cup of milk. Whisk some more! Add a bay leaf and 2-3 oz of clam juice, and 2 peeled diced potatoes. Boil about 10-12 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender. Add 1 cup of half & half. And simmer for a few more minutes. Then drain 2 cans of chopped clams (6.5 oz cans) and keep the juice. Add the clams at the end of cooking time because they get tough very easily. So only about 2-3 minutes of cooking in the soup. Then add about 3 oz or so of the reserved clam juice from the cans. Taste and add more clam juice to suit your taste. Add more salt and pepper if needed! Serve topped with fresh parsley and crumbled bacon. We absolutely loved this soup! I hope you do too! Let’s Make Seafood Chowder👇 A chowder is, by definition, a thick, creamy soup containing clams and potatoes. Some chowders use cream to thicken the soup. This recipe uses 2% milk and a roux to make the soup thick and delicious. Prep Time: 15 minutes  Cook Time: 25 minutes  Yield: 16 cups Servings: 8 Ingredients: 🧡 4 Tbsp olive or avocado oil 🧡 1 cup chopped fine celery with green tops (reserve these) 🧡 1 cup or 2 medium onions, peeled and chopped fine 🧡 1 cup leeks chopped fine, about 1 leek 🧡 4 x 6 inch carrots, peeled and chopped fine  🧡 4 fist sized red potatoes, skin on, chopped coarsely 🧡 3 cloves garlic minced 🧡 3 cups chicken stock- homemade is best, otherwise use low sodium variety or water 🧡 3/4 cup clam juice 🧡 3/4 Tbsp freshly ground black pepper 🧡 1 1/2 Tbsp pink Himalayan or other microplastic free salt 🧡 1 Tbsp thyme 🧡 2 tsp Tabasco 🧡 2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning 🧡 1 pound frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined 🧡 2 pounds frozen cod, cubed 🧡 6 cups grass fed 2% milk  🧡 1/2 cup sifted spelt flour 🧡 1 cup grass fed 2% milk 🧡 Salt and pepper to taste Instructions: 1. In a large dutch oven or stock pot, add olive or avocado oil then add celery, onions, leeks and garlic over medium heat. 2. When vegetables have softened, add chicken broth, clam juice, potatoes, carrots, black pepper, salt, thyme, Old Bay and Tabasco sauce. 3. Bring to a boil and reduce to medium-low heat to simmer. Cook for about 8-10 minutes or until potatoes are almost fork-tender. 4. Add shrimp and cod to the stock pot and simmer another 7-8 minutes or until fish flakes easily and shrimp turns pink. 5. Add 6 cups milk.  6. Create roux by combining 1/2 cup flour and another 1 cup milk, whisking well until flour is dissolved. 7. Slowly stir into the chowder until you reach your desired thickness. 8. Stir until thickened and season with salt and pepper to taste. 9. Clam Chowder 🍲 | Soups So Good It Can Cure Any Sickness Ep. 5 INGREDIENTS: - 5 slices thick-cut bacon, diced - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter - 1 medium onion, diced - 1 cup celery, diced - 1 stalk of leeks, sliced - 7-8 cloves garlic, sliced - 2 teaspoons dried thyme - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for thickening) - Chicken broth - 4 cans of baby clams - 1 potato, peeled and diced - 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce - 2 bay leaves - 2 cups cream - Salt and black pepper, to taste INSTRUCTIONS: - Render l bacon in a pot, and cook medium heat until brown and crispy. Remove bacon from the pot and set aside half as garnish. - Sauté Aromatics in the rendered fat. Add onions, garlic, onion leeks, and celery and cook until softened. - Add flour over the mixture and stir until the flour makes a roux. This helps thicken the chowder. Fill the pot up to with chicken broth. Add in diced potatoes, clams, bay leaves and bring the liquid to a gentle boil allowing it to thicken - Turn off heat and season with worcestershire adding in the cream and bacon at the very end. - serve and enjoy! #Clamchowder #Newenglandclamchowder #Soup #ASMR #ASMRCooking
