Your STM32 isn’t “dead”. Your clock layout is. If your microcontroller: • Won’t boot • Randomly resets • Fails intermittently • Shows unstable timing Check the crystal traces. Long. Angled. Running near noisy lines. That 4MHz (or 8/16MHz) crystal is sensitive. Bad routing = distorted clock = unstable startup. Golden rules: • Keep traces short • Keep them symmetric • Place crystal close to MCU • Avoid running under noisy signals • Proper grounding around crystal Clock stability = system stability. Before rewriting firmware… check the PCB. Save this for your next board revision.
