Des cycades près d’un temple 🌴(https://couplan.com/) Les cycades sont des plantes bizarres : elles ressemblent aux fougères, avec des feuilles de palmier, mais ne sont proches des des unes ni des autres. Ce sont des plantes sans fleurs, mais à graines, apparues au Carbonifère, il y a environ 350 millions d’années et toujours présentes, sinon abondantes, dans les régions tropicales du globe. La presqu’île d’Izu, au sud de Tokyo, a un climat suffisamment doux pour qu’elles y prospèrent. Les spécimens plantés devant ce temple bouddhiste à Shimoda sont superbes et manifestement bien portants, puisqu’ils produisent de nombreux bourgeons. Les cycades sont toxiques, mais des préparations adéquates permettent d’en consommer selon les cas le tronc, riche en amidon, ou les graines. En Europe, on les voit assez souvent dans les halls d’hôtel où elles surprennent avec leurs feuilles rigides toujours vertes qui paraissent artificielles… @kusakanmuri_keiko #plantessauvages #cycades #cyca botanique #shimoda #izu japon
