The theory of complete ordered fields is second-order categorical. However, if you try to define the real numbers using only first-order logic (where you can’t quantify over “all subsets”), you lose this uniqueness. There are “non-standard” models of the reals in first-order logic that are not isomorphic to R. But in standard analysis, when we say “complete,” we mean the second-order version, which is unique.
