How to use the new EES kiosks☝️WATCH THIS before your next trip to Europe 🇪🇺 💾 And don’t forget to save and share for next time you travel! ⚠️ WHAT IS EES? ⚠️ EES stands for ‘Entry Exit System’ which is a new automated computer system that tracks when non-EU nationals (that includes us Brits) go in and out of most of Europe. It’s set to replace stamps. ⚠️ WHEN DOES THIS COME IN? ⚠️ EES begins on 12th Oct but there’s a 6 month gradual rollout and so it’s likely that not many places will be up and running straight away. ⚠️ HOW WILL I KNOW IF IT’S AFFECTING MY JOURNEY? ⚠️ Some places have said it will be up and running on Sunday including Estonia, Czechia and Luxembourg but even there they haven’t confirmed whether it will be for every single flight. It’s going to take a while to see how it plays out... ⚠️ WHAT’S AN EES KIOSK? ⚠️ To help speed things up, airports, train stations and ports have installed EES self service kiosks. This allows you to ‘pre-register’ so that when you get to border control, they’ll simply swipe your passport and all the needed info for EES will be come up. ⚠️ WHAT IF I DON’T USE AN EES KIOSK? ⚠️ If you can’t find one, it’s not working or need extra assistance, you would just go to border control as normal and they will do a manual EES check with you if it’s required. ⚠️ WHERE WILL I FIND AN EES KIOSK? ⚠️ Ask yourself: at what stage of your journey does your passport normally get stamped? Wherever that is, the EES kiosks are likely to be just before it. For flights from the UK, this would be after you land but before you go through to arrivals. For the Eurostar at St Pancras, the ferry at Dover and the Eurotunnel at Folkestone however, this would be done before you leave the UK. For all return journeys, you would do the checks before you board your transport home. 📣 LET ME KNOW… If you have any more questions!! I have tried my best to keep it as simple as possible!! The EES or Entry/Exit system is running in many airports, but it’s not that big of a deal. Here are a few tips to help you get through smoothly: 1️⃣ Don’t freak out cuz your face will be scanned and so will your passport. 2️⃣ Yes, your data will be registered and stored but it’s no different than what the U.S. government already has stored on all of us. So, no biggie. 3️⃣ Expect longer wait times upon entering Europe in certain airports. In other words, expect to be in line like an extra hour or two before entering a country. 4️⃣ Some countries will use an app that allows you to pre-register yourself. The app is called Travel to Europe and is currently only being used by Sweden specifically the Arlanda airport. This may change as more countries implement the EES. 5️⃣ Some airports will have self-service kiosks. 6️⃣ This does not replace the visa or travel authorization requirement to enter European countries. This is in addition to. For example, once the European travel authorization is up and running, you’ll need the EES and the travel authorization to enter Europe. 7️⃣ You don’t need the EES to enter the UK. 8️⃣ The EES is free and is done at the airports in Europe. You do not need to apply for anything. Or pay for it. I hope these tips help you navigate entering Europe in 2026 smoothly. מה זה בכלל EES? אירופה מתחילה להפעיל מערכת חדשה בשם EES – Entry/Exit System שזה: ✔️ סריקת פנים ✔️ סריקת אצבעות ✔️ החלפת חותמות דרכון במערכת דיגיטלית ✔️ כניסה ויציאה מהירות יותר בעתיד ✈️ אז קבלו 6 דברים שאתם פשוט חייבים לדעת על המערכת  1️⃣ אין יותר חותמות בדרכון המערכת מצלמת אתכם, סורקת פנים וטביעות אצבע — וזה נכנס אוטומטית למערכת. טיפ: אל תחפשו את החותמת… היא פשוט לא תהיה שם. 2️⃣ הכניסה והיציאה יהיו מהירות יותר (בעתיד) עכשיו יש קצת עומסים כי כולם מתרגלים. אבל המטרה: מעבר עתידי מהיר יותר בגבולות. 3️⃣ כל כניסה לאירופה נספרת אוטומטית המערכת מחשבת לבד את חוק 90 הימים. טיפ: פחות טעויות — פחות כאבי ראש עם ביקורת גבולות. 4️⃣ התהליך לא קשור ל־ETIAS ETIAS עדיין לא פעיל. ETIAS = European Travel Information and Authorization System EES = זיהוי ביומטרי. Hoje se inicia o novo sistema de entrada na Europa. Todo digital. Aqui vai um resumo do EES — Entry/Exit System (Sistema de Entrada/Saída) da União Europeia: o que é, para que serve, como vai funcionar, e o que muda para quem entra na Europa. Se quiser, posso mandar uma versão ainda mais simples ou focada para um país específico. --- O que é o EES? É um novo sistema digital de controlo de fronteiras externas do espaço Schengen da UE. Aplica-se a cidadãos de países terceiros — ou seja, pessoas que não são cidadãos da UE ou do Espaço Schengen, nem residentes com direitos de longa duração. Tem como objectivo substituir o carimbo manual no passaporte por registos electrónicos de entrada e saída. --- O que vai registar? Quando alguém de um país terceiro entrar ou sair do espaço Schengen para uma estadia curta (até 90 dias num período de 180 dias), serão recolhidos: Dados pessoais básicos (nome, data de nascimento, nacionalidade, etc.) Número de passaporte, país emissor, validade do documento. Fotografia facial. Impressões digitais de quatro dedos (excepto polegar) — exceto para crianças pequenas (menos de 12 anos), que não terão de dar as impressões digitais. --- Quando entra em vigor e implementação? O sistema começa a funcionar a partir de 12 de outubro de 2025. A introdução vai ser gradual, ao longo de seis meses, ou seja, vai haver diferentes pontos fronteiriços que só vão poder recolher os dados mais tarde. O sistema deverá estar totalmente operativo em todos os pontos de fronteira externos do espaço Schengen até 10 de abril de 2026. --- Por que estão a fazer isto? Os objetivos principais Tornar mais eficiente e seguro o controlo nas fronteiras externas da UE. Detectar quem ultrapassa o tempo permitido de estadia (overstay) automaticamente. Reduzir fraudes de identidade. Modernizar o processo de entrada/saída, substituindo carimbos manuais por registos digitais. --- O que muda na prática para quem vaja? Ao entrar pela primeira vez sob o EES, vai ter que se submeter à recolha de dados biométricos: rosto + impressões digitais (conforme, se for maior de 12 anos).

It came in today - Sun 12th Oct - but there’s a 6 month gradual rollout. 🇪🇺 I WANT TO KNOW MORE! 🇪🇺 I’ve got 2 other videos so scroll back, or comment ‘ARTICLE’ and I will send you our written guide! ⬇️ IN THIS VIDEO ⬇️ ✈️ WHERE DID YOU FLY? ✈️ I flew to Tallinn in Estonia as they confirmed that they would be doing EES checks from 12th Oct. ✈️ WHAT HAPPENED AT LUTON AIRPORT? ✈️ It was exactly the same as normal! ✈️ WHAT HAPPENED AT TALLINN AIRPORT ✈️ After getting off the plane, I walked to border control. This is where I expected to see EES self service kiosks... HOWEVER - Tallinn Airport doesn’t have any self service kiosks yet 😱 and so whilst they were doing EES checks, they were all done manually at border control. ✈️ WHAT’S A MANUAL EES CHECK? ✈️ It’s where you haven’t pre-registered any information at a kiosk and instead a border officer takes you through your EES checks including a face scan, fingerprints and some questions which could be: 1. What’s the purpose of your trip? 2. How long are you staying? 3. Do you have a return or onwards ticket? 4. Do you have proof of accommodation? 5. Do you have sufficient funds? ✈️ HOW WAS MY EXPERIENCE? ✈️ It was fine but slow. It took around 4 mins - as was the woman’s in front of me. There were points where the officer looked a bit confused about what was going on. Hopefully these are just teething problems as 2 mins was the amount suggested in the run up. 📣 LET ME KNOW… What do you make of this process? Have you heard of any airports that have EES kiosks up and running? And I don’t just mean they have the kiosks, but actually using them (have heard Luxembourg were being used today!) #ees #entryexitsystem #uktravel #europetravel

Aunque hay un nuevo sistema de entrada que entrará en vigor, no tiene nada que ver con el ETIAS. 🇪🇺✈️ Este sistema, llamado Entry/Exit System (EES), comenzará a operar a partir de noviembre de 2024 y está diseñado para modernizar el control de las fronteras en Europa. 🚦📲 ¿Qué significa esto? Cuando llegues a la frontera de un país del espacio Schengen, ya no se te sellará el pasaporte como antes. En su lugar, tu información, incluidos datos biométricos (como huellas y foto), será registrada digitalmente. Este sistema ayudará a agilizar los controles y a mejorar la seguridad. 🔐📋 El EES no te pedirá una autorización previa, simplemente será parte del proceso de control cuando llegues.
