An interesting fact is that they recorded almost their entire debut album, Please Please Me, in a single 10-hour session on February 11, 1963. While modern artists might spend months on a single track, the Beatles knocked out 10 songs in under 600 minutes, ending with the vocal-shredding “Twist and Shout.” By the time most people in 2026 are just starting to figure out their career path, the Beatles had already released 12 studio albums, starred in five movies, and changed the DNA of popular culture forever. In October 2004, a candid conversation between Robin Gibb and Paul McCartney took place at Paul’s The Mill Studio in Sussex, England. ​The footage was shot right after Paul finished the recording session for “Too Much Heaven.” Remarkably, this was also the very first time Robin met his musical hero. ​The meeting was set in motion by Robin himself. He had initiated a special tribute album to honor his twin brother Maurice Gibb following his passing in January 2003. ​The album was produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, but the tribute project was eventually shelved. To this day, the recording has never been officially released. ​This is just a short clip. Beatlemania takes over San Francisco International Airport as teenagers gather for a glimpse of the Beatles on their arrival in 1966. The Fab Four's last show was held on August 29, 1966 at San Francisco's Candlestick Park. It had been a difficult U.S. tour for the band. On the one hand, audience screams overwhelmed the band's performances, and on the other the group faced incredible backlash over John Lennon's recent comments about the group being "Bigger than Jesus." The band performed live just one more time, in January of 1969 on the roof of the Apple building, but Candlestick marked the end of their career as touring artists. This year, KPIX is celebrating a major milestone. KPIX was the first television broadcasting station in Northern California and the 49th in the nation. Channel 5 went on the air with its inaugural broadcast 75 years ago on Dec. 22, 1948.
