The Immortal IXth - BLOOD ANGELS I’ve been waiting for this one. My first and truest love the Blood Angels. I started the army around book iii anticipated my beloved angels would see a full release in the upcoming Angelus book. I’m not sure what I’d do now if I were to collect the angels again. The first army was themed around the siege of terra, the last line holding against the inevitable fall. It was a patch work army of units and left over parts from commission - because in all honesty I couldn’t afford a full train Forge World army. Now, I’d look to be more specific. A cohort themed around the inner household of Sanguinius - Sanguinary Guard, Dawn Breakers - elite and fast. Or An army themed around the first chapter master of the Revenant Legion - the shadow of the legions past, a time better left forgotten. A force of a time when a curse trailed the immortal IXth that was never spoken in ear shot - that of Vampire. What army themes would you be interested in creating in your Blood Angels army? Very quick work on these three Riptides this weekend. I think it was approximately 9 hours in total, something rare on me 🐌. Used oil washes, which is a technique I don’t use normally and, oh boy, it was fun! Two of them are Forge World converted old models, so they can be still used in the current edition with the right equipment, while adding a bit more of variation. As I love the models, I guess at some point I will come back to add some extra details, like white helmets and so on. Tech Preist Manipulus This guy was part of a commission for a client who approached me to bring the forge world of Stygies viii to life on the tabletop. For those of you that haven’t heard of this awesome forge world it borders on the heretical by experimenting with Xenos tech in an ever increasing drive to break into the black library. This leads them into conflict with many flavours of Aeldari and so the client wanted me to kitbash some xeno tech into them. This guy was the HQ in the combat patrol and I “installed” lol a careers head as a servo skull. The tech preist has kept his hand on a staff as well in attempts to break into the webway more efficiently. The model also features some wire lightning and a 3d printed psychic effect which I have glazed to be bluish.
