How to multiply 2/3 x 3/4 using an area model ⬇️⬇️ 🤍 Step one: Draw a large rectangle or square to represent the whole. 🤍 Step two: Write 2/3 on the width of the area model. Partition or cut the area model vertically into thirds. Shade in two of the three parts to represent 2/3. 🤍 Step three: Write 3/4 on the length of the area model partition the model horizontally into fourths and shade in three of the four parts to represent 3/4. 🤍 Step four: Write the size of each piece as a fraction of the whole. Since there are now 12 parts in total, the denominator is 12. 🤍 Step five: Circle the pieces that are overlapping in color. This is your product!
