📱💡here are my 5 unusual tech habits I’ve honed for cutting the stress and boosting focus & joy! For my favorite tools & apps mentioned or used in this video, see below! 
1️⃣ Turn off ALL notifications. Yes, even the colored badges on screen. Constant interruptions = anxiety overload. If you have an iPhone, you can adjust all of this in your notification settings. 
2️⃣ Do breathing exercises with an HRV monitor for 5-10 minutes/day. I use the @heartmath monitor! 
3️⃣ Use your brain’s peak hours wisely: if you’re a morning person, you might opt to skip the trendy morning workout routines, tackle deep work first thing & save workouts & meditation for your afternoon slump. 
 4️⃣ Use an app blocker to block social media apps for 23 hours/day—one hour of scrolling is plenty. I use @withopal (for a code for a free month trial, comment “Opal” below and I’ll send your way) 
5️⃣ Let your sleep data decide your fitness plan. Fewer workouts = fewer sick days = better mental health. I use @ouraring for all of my sleep data. And here’s what most people don’t know: The heart sends far more signals to the brain than the brain sends back to the heart. When we breathe deeply, drop into parasympathetic mode, and actually feel into our hearts, we tap into something deeper than logic—what some call a sixth sense. It helps us sense when someone’s not safe. It helps us feel what’s aligned. But we override it when we overthink, disconnect, and ignore the body's subtle guidance (aka intuition) I’ll be honest… I’m a head-first kind of thinker. Here are real cases from heart transplant recipients that make you wonder… 1️⃣ A soft-spoken, tea-sipping grandmother received a heart from a young male motorcyclist. After surgery, she became aggressive, started drinking beer, and became obsessed with football. 2️⃣ A 47-year-old white man received the heart of a 17-year-old Black violinist. He developed a love for classical music, a gift for poetry, and vivid emotional shifts, none of which he’d experienced before. Science often dismisses this. But I believe cellular memory is real. And stories like these? They stretch the limits of what we think the heart is really capable of. What do you think? In fact the heart sends massively more signals to the brain than the brain does to the heart. By breathing deep, tuning into parasympathetic mode and feeling into our hearts, we have what possibly might be called a sixth sense. A possibility to feel our way through life-situations and people that might not be safe, or have our best interest at hearts. We can override our heart’s desires by thinking too much and ignoring the universe’s subtle guidance given to us as intuition. I’m a heady thinker so I struggle with this. Many of us have been so hurt, we avoid feeling that broken heart-but through is the only way out! Here are a few more examples of the power of our hearts, when transplanted into donors- 1️⃣A gentle, soft-spoken grandmother who never drank alcohol and hated football received a heart from a crashed motorcyclist donor and turned into an aggressive, beer-drinking football fan. 2️⃣A 47 yo white male received a heart from a 17-year-old black male. The recipient was surprised by his newfound love of classical music. What he discovered later was that the donor, who loved classical music and played the violin, had died in a drive-by shooting, clutching his violin case. A man who could barely write suddenly developed a talent for poetry. Many of this is dismissed by science. I know we retain cellular memory but this is pretty wild. 😜 What do you think? I am here to help you with weekly simple and free tips and tools to help you achieve your goals, as well as frankly, just feel better, and who doesn't want that?!?🙋 My first mental wellness tip of the year is a powerful tool, often overlooked when it comes to our mental wellness: WALKING! 🥾❤️ Research shows that walking as little as 5,000 to 7,000 steps a day can significantly reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Contrary to the previously popular belief of aiming for 10,000 steps, recent studies indicate that lower step counts can still yield substantial mental health benefits. Walking not only boosts your mood but also helps to clear your mind, reduce anxiety, improve your focus, and enhance your overall well-being. Here are a few resolutions to consider: 1. Start Small: Aim for 5,000 steps a day and gradually increase your goal as it becomes a part of your routine. 2. Create a Walking Routine: Schedule regular walks into your day, whether it’s a morning stroll or an evening unwind. 3. Find a Walking Buddy: Connect with a friend or family member to make your walks more enjoyable and hold each other accountable. 4.
