SkiErg 🆘❌the most important station in HYROX! Many athletes push too hard here and burn all their energy. I’ve seen it, I’ve done it and I’ve learned my lesson. 📣 Example: My average SkiErg pace is 2:20/500m. If I go at 2:10/500m, I’m completely destroyed. The difference? Only 20 seconds but it costs me the whole race. As an athlete, I usually start in the middle to the back of the field on the SkiErg. But I always catch up later because I pace myself smart. Those few seconds you “gain” by going harder are not worth the energy you lose. ⚡ My advice: Don’t try to win HYROX on the SkiErg. Race smart, not hard. Save your power for the later stations that’s where you’ll actually win. BURPEES = HYROX’s toughest station — but they don’t have to break you. Here’s how to manage your effort, conserve energy, and stay efficient across all 80m of pain: 1. Don’t burst & break. Control your pace and use the knee-step technique if needed (watch till the end). 2. Breathe. Don’t hold your breath — control it to control your heart rate. Chin up = Air in. Stay upright to keep breathing smooth. 3. Regular jumps = smarter. Find a distance that keeps your form clean & cardio in check. 4. Stay low. Standing up between reps wastes time & energy. 5. Avoid floor resting. Airflow gets restricted — rest standing, elbows on knees, forward lean = efficient. 6. Use your 12 inches! Maximize distance per rep. Over 50 reps, that’s 8–12 burpees saved. 7. Step smart. Align your foot with your fingertips when standing — don’t lose ground. 8. Arm drive. Use your upper body to launch further. 9. Use the bounce. Drop your chest, bounce up with a knee push-up to conserve energy. 10. Learn how many burpees you need to complete the distance- it will keep@you in check mentally HYROX is a game of balance between aerobic & anaerobic effort — play it right. Here are my tips on sandbag lunges 🙋🏽‍♀️ Feel like you guys enjoy these reels so I’ll keep them coming 🤓😃 Of course these are my personal tips, and everyone has different preferences, so do what works for you! Sandbag lunges feel really easy to me, prob because I’m so short and I’m pretty quad dominant too, so that definitely helps! 1️⃣ Long strides mean fewer total lunges to cover 🤷🏽‍♀️ However only do this if you have good balance. Ive noticed huuge improvements since I planned single leg bar bell split squats in my training program. 2️⃣ I think ill get some haters on this one but I find the mid step to be a big waste of time/energy and breaks my focus/rhythm 🤡 yes my legs feel like jelly on the run post-lunges, but after a minute or two the feeling is gone (thanks creatine). 3️⃣ Looking slightly forward and down stabilizes your posture and helps balance. If you look too high, the sandbag pulls your torso backward; too low and you round forward. 4️⃣ I like to inhale as i lower into the lunge, exhale as i drive up. It avoids breath-holding under the sandbag and also helps my pacing. 5️⃣ Core is sooo important on this one. Tightening your core locks your torso in place, so the bag doesn’t bounce or twist you off-line. You guys have any other tips, or agree/disagree with mine?
