1️⃣ In Jenkins, As a DevOps Engineer, what kind of errors you'll handle?
Ans: In Jenkins, we mainly handle pipeline failures.
A pipeline can fail due to several reasons:
1. Build errors – These occur when the code does not compile or when package installation fails. We need to be extra careful while writing the Jenkinsfile syntax and while passing parameters.
2. Dependency issues – When required libraries or dependencies are missing, the pipeline fails.
3. Test failures – The pipeline can fail during testing if the code has vulnerabilities or functional issues.
4. Credential issues – When Jenkins cannot access Git repositories or Docker registries, the pipeline fails.
5. Plugin issues – When Jenkins plugins are outdated or incompatible, the pipeline may fail.
6. Agent or node issues – When Jenkins agents are offline, misconfigured, or run out of disk or memory, the pipeline fails.
7. Environment issues – When required tools, paths, or environment variables are not configured properly, the pipeline fails.
8. Deployment errors – When the build succeeds but fails during deployment to Kubernetes.

2️⃣ How can we secure CiCd pipelines?
We secure CI/CD pipelines by protecting source code access, securing credentials, and adding security checks at every stage. This includes using role-based access control(RBAC), storing secrets in secure vaults(Ex: Hashicorp vault, Azure key vault), enabling branch protection and code reviews, scanning code and dependencies for vulnerabilities, scanning container images, restricting pipeline permissions, and maintaining proper audit logs to prevent unauthorized changes.
